NJ Turnpike Authority do not care about affordability for NJ, even though they are a public agency and report to the governor. We are being force fed an $11B highway widening in Hudson County, when instead we could fund NJ Transit or pay $$ back to taxpayers #turnpiketrap @mikiesherrill.bsky.social

Thank you to all the volunteers from @bikejc.bsky.social for today’s memorial and freshening up the bike ghost memorials around town. We lost a child to traffic violence this year, and nothing was done about it and nothing has changed since. #WDoR2025

Hudson County built a Protected Bike Lane, huge win! Hudson County has one of the lowest car ownership per household in the nation. Space and infrastructure for people to travel around the County safely with light rail, buses, bikes, and more is imperative!

More from yesterday’s World Day of Remembrance observances in Jersey City, with our new or refreshed roadside memorials in the Western Slope, Journal Square, and Greenville. May we honor the memories of those lost to traffic violence by ending it. #WDoR2025 🕯️

If you can spare a few hours on Saturday, Nov. 8, consider volunteering with our friends Let’s Share a Meal at their annual food drive!

They do SO much important work feeding the local community, and the looming SNAP crisis makes their work that much more urgent.

Let there be light! On the bike lane! (& sidewalks, and murals.) Today #JerseyCity lit the new streetlights in the once-forbidding areas under the overpass at 12th Street., over the Coles Street curb-raised lane & around the corner by the big murals. The bit under the 14th St. bridge is lit now too.

Not a big surprise: Jersey City came in second. People need to stop pretending we’re some inherently car-dependent exurb, and embrace an urban transportation mix, with more and better mass transit, biking and walking.
Big surprise: New York is the only US city where most households don't have cars. But there are some big zero-car minorities across the river in New Jersey and in Washington, Boston and San Francisco. From new column with gift link: www.bloomberg.com/opinion/arti...

Online navigable, zoomable route for tomorrow’s ride, with cue sheets etc. Note that the elevation listings don’t include our (smooth, separated, totally car-free) climb up the Bayonne Bridge bike/walkway, about 200 feet to the top/middle of the span.

Thank you to all the folks at the Dept of Infrastructure for getting the south side expansion funded!

Redesigning Johnston Ave will make it safer. Narrowing travel lanes and adding protected bike lanes are proven traffic calming safety measures that will make the roadway safer for everyone.
