Bondi crashes out over Epstein: "The Dow is over 50,000 dollars! I don't know why you're laughing. You're a great stock trader as I hear, Raskin. The Dow is over 50,000 right now. The S&P at almost 7,000, and the Nasdaq smashing records. That's what we should be talking about."

Somehow, I don't think people like Gutfeld would have accepted "the fact that you hate Obama (or Biden) now more than ever means that he is fulfilling his promises."
No Greg Gutfeld, you dishonest punk. It means that every day for the past year & two weeks he’s done stupid, cruel, fascist, corrupt, ignorant, lawless, dishonest, anti-democratic, unconstitutional, un-American things. Every single day. That’s why we hate Trump.

No explanation.
El Paso is my hometown.

Sadly, this is why Democratic leaders needed to act when the iron was hot — to lead, get out on the streets, and mobilize public opinion.

It may now be that their moment has passed and the public has moved on. If so, what a shame; what a lost opportunity.
Sometimes very hard not to feel like the rest of the country has abandoned Minnesota. We STILL have ICE everywhere. Our schools, businesses, and economy are in profound crisis. But without Bovino here throwing tear gas, much of the country seems to not care at all what’s being done to us.

We do not, in fact, have "a lot of communism" in the United States.
15% growth is impossible.
TRUMP: We can grow at 15 percent. I think more than that!

KUDLOW: Well, 15 is a big number sir

TRUMP: But Larry, you can do it. We used to grow at 15 percent because we had spirit. Today we have a lot of communism

We have spirit, yes we do!
We can pretend to have 15% growth, how about you?

How the fuck did Trump pass any classes at Wharton, when he doesn't understand Econ 101 concepts, like comparative advantage and tariffs?

I’m pretty sure that the problem with the relationship was Trump saying Canada should be the 51st state and being a completely unreliable negotiating partner, not a speech from Carney.

I mean, sure, but don't we have more important things to worry about than pocketbook voting?
Q: “Where do you see the election ahead of November?”

Nikki Haley: “You can't look at the stock market and say the economy is doing well…The dollar is weakening…If Americans don't feel like there is some hope with their wallets and some hope in raising their families, we will lose.”

Why couldn't Donald Trump have been alive in the 1920s? He'd have been the epitome of the dumbass who buys a gazillion stocks on credit on, like, September 30, 1929.
If anyone deserves to live in a Hooverville, it is Trump.
Trump: "We have to go back to the old system. When we have good news, the market should go up. When we have bad news, the market should go down. And we'll take care of inflation as it comes."

VAN HOLLEN: Did you in fact make the visit to Epstein's private island?

LUTNICK: I did have lunch w/ him as I was on a boat going across on a family vacation. My wife was with me as were my 4 children and nannies. We had lunch on the island. That's true. For an hour. We left with all of my children

The problem is that the United States, right now, is NOT the beacon of freedom and democracy that Senator Scott declares it is. Ask anyone in the world, and they’ll tell you that’s been significantly tarnished over the past few years.

Wait, I thought deporting "illegals" meant that millions of "Forgotten/Real Americans" would magically have jobs again???
You mean to tell me that White America isn't rushing to work as hotel maids, fruit pickers, farmhands, and janitors?
How do these people manage this cognitive dissonance?
Peter Navarro: "The jobs report comes out tomorrow. We have to revise our expectations down significantly for what a monthly job number should look like ... Wall Street has to adjust for the fact that we're deporting millions of illegals out of the job market."

In Trump's world, there is nothing wrong with traumatizing a 5 y/o.
Also in Trump's world, the wealthy and powerful should never go to prison for anything, pardons can be auctioned off, and any consequences for the wealthy/powerful (or crooked law enforcement) amount to "unfair treatment."

They are bringing back the classics. Imagine being afraid of "Sharia Law" being imposed on the US by MUSLIMS, while Christian Nationalists are trying to do essentially the same thing, but with way more power and avenues to actually accomplish some of those goals.
Literally searching for outgroups to scare people about

"That has left the G.O.P. looking for ways to address its voters’ concerns over the number of immigrants who came into the country during the Biden admin. while avoiding the increasingly unpopular policy of mass deportations under Mr. Trump."

Ron Johnson shows complete ignorance of all the principles of the American judicial system.
Ron Johnson: "Why would they to remove their masks? Because they want these officers exposed, they want them afraid, they don't want to carry out their enforcement actions. They want judicial warrants, which would completely neuter ICE's ability to apprehend"

I just rewatched the Vergangenheit episode of The Crown. It is a disturbing, powerful, and challenging hour of television.
The only other episode of TV I always find so powerful and challenging is "Two Cathedrals" from The West Wing.

I really don't know of any other song he has written.
