Hi. I’m Grace and I’m a writer! I’ve got a number of current projects that I skeet about, but to keep skeet-length down, I tend to use shorthand, so I thought I’d do a key as to what was what.

Draft Key (good until June)
Draft 1: Friday Fiction (renews every month; could literally be any genre!)
Love the long-track speed skating. I'd have taken it up in a heartbeat if there'd been somewhere I could do it when I was a kid.

I think we have 6 or 7 in total, including a local authority leisure centre, in a town that is no more than five miles across! I’m honestly surprised the town can support them all, but apparently it can…

Never mind in cities: I live in a smallish market town in the UK and we have four 24hr gyms and they’re all within walking distance of each other, too…

My favourite Hungarian phrase for describing karma at work is dexr is visszanyalt a fagyi. It means “the ice cream licked back.”

Has to be "There's a Guy Works Down the Chip Shop Swears He's Elvis" from Kirsty MacColl, with an honourable mention to "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" from Meat Loaf.

Cracking songs and awesome titles, frankly.
Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

UPDATE 2:
Draft 1 is now ticked off for the weekend. I've also made a dent in the edits, though I still have a number left. So that's where I'm starting this morning.

UPDATE 1:
Self-care done, website admin done, some chores tackled too. Up next: draft 1. (I'd start the editing, but as I'm cooking dinner, I don't really want to start that, knowing I can only give it an hour's worth of attention.)

*grin* there will be some rest in there too - it’s a long list but a lot of it’s short items, which helps! ❤️

-Household chores list

I also have some self-care planned (it involves wearing shorts, though, so I might need to be a bit brave...)

So we'll see how I do.

Updates, as and when <3

...and get a few things finally finished. In, more or less, order of priority:
-Draft 2 - last edits, formatting and setting up things for launch.
-Draft 5 - knit it together into a cohesive draft and get it to my editor
-Website admin - WW
-Website admin - MM
-Draft 1 - Run through and finalise

Evening :)

This week has been A Lot. Some of it personal (hello day job clients; where have you been for the last six months?!), some of it friends-related and some of it just the overall state of, well, everything. But: it's the weekend and I have a list. So, going to try...
January 30, 2026 at 9:22 PM
More than pouring it in your eyes, certainly!
January 30, 2026 at 3:39 PM
To say nothing of a waste of (presumably) good red wine...
January 30, 2026 at 3:34 PM
Yessssss! *grin*

I feel like a doomcrolling ought to be some deep-fried, sugar laiden monstrosity, possibly served with whipped cream and sprinkles...

If you think about it, though, those older people who're now adopting 'bored' as an identity WERE the teenagers who did it back in the day. So nothing's really changed for them. They're just older and ache a bit more.

As they say: every little helps! Hopefully under 1000 comes nice and quickly for you <3

UPDATE 1:
A first round of chores has been accomplished (okay, that just means I hauled myself to Lidl and achieved a speed record for weekly grocery shopping...still!) and I'm now going through my draft 3 edit comments.
January 24, 2026 at 9:57 AM
This was me last night.
January 23, 2026 at 9:43 AM
...so that gets to appear on my weekend list. Joy.

Right. Need to crack on with my day job list before people start adding to it!

Updates as and when <3

-Draft 3 - Potential final edits and formatting.
-Household chores list of doom - there were six or seven tasks on this that I didn't get to last weekend, not sure how many new ones are going on yet (I guess my first task is to figure that out!)
-Day Job - I have an out of hours task this week...
January 23, 2026 at 8:52 AM
...unfortunately, those were the 8 easiest items. The rest will take a bit more work. However once I am, I can start tackling my weekend list...which is actually pretty short this week:
-Draft 5 - I'm very much at the point of wondering if I'm ever going to be finished with this one!
