Yes I really am all of those things.
Pinned
It's really hard not to post and just swear at the moment.
Lovely
...like water or glass that turns into anything,
into smoke, into a spiral,
into a building, a fish, a stone, a rose.
I am different from me, so different...

Starmer says the SNP insults Scotland by planning for independence. The only one insulting Scotland is Starmer with his refusal to even say how another referendum will be held. If this continues the SNP should consider withdrawing its MPs from Westminster

My column in @heraldscotland.bsky.social

If the SNP gets a majority at the next election and London still says No to indyref2, then the party should recall its MPs from Westminster, our…

Anthropologists and historians tend to think of the color palette humans used tens of thousands of years ago as unreflective of the real-world gamut, limited to black, white, and the ochres (red, yellow, brown). If they also had blues and greens, it changes the picture of their culture.
Since it's hardly found as #pigment in nature, the colour #blue is believed to be a rather modern addition to our painting kits.

Until now: Turns out that apparently already #Paleolithic artists used blue pigment.

This is probably what happens when you suck up to Trump - he feels emboldened. Your fault Starmer.
It’s true— by designating ANTIFA as the enemy, including all Democrats and leftists and Trump critics and people of color and women— Trump is admitting that he is a Fascist dictator who will crack down upon any and all opposition.

This is an amazing image: someone has now actually seen a young planet about 5x Jupiter's mass (the bright dot) actively in the process of picking up dust from its protoplanetary disk (leaving the dark gap). (Further data even directly detected hydrogen gas actively falling onto the planet!) Cool!!

A very hungry planet! 🪐

What appears to be a ripple in space is actually a newborn planet, eating its way through its dusty cradle around a younger version of our Sun 🌞

this is why #InverteFest encourages you to smell the flowers and ogle the critters. cameras have gotten exponentially better over the years and EVERYONE has a high chance of making scientific discoveries in normal places.

1. "'Trusting the experts is not a feature of either a science or democracy," Kennedy said."

It's literally a vital feature of both science and of representative democracy.

I've written a fair bit about trust in expertise as a vital mechanism in the collective epistemology of science.

Glad the Apollo 13 movie is getting reruns lately.
This scene is even more moving today: right, Tom Hanks playing Jim Lovell; left, cameo appearance by actual Jim Lovell (1928 Mar 25 - 2025 Aug 7).
