Blows my mind that some of the same journalists who see Trump as a want-to-be dictator at home are earnestly discussing the "challenges" for this same man to "bring democracy" to a country it just illegal invaded. Please grow up.

Do we think the rats of NYC will retaliate against Eric Adams?

I need everyone doing New Year's stuff to stop using LMLs for astrology bc I can't enter client data into astroseek rn 😡 you're not just wasting resources, you're scraping data you'd be better off paying someone for! The Chani app is half off rn, many people do sliding scales/pay what you can

I know I talk about this all the time, but when was the last time you took the bus? Even in Atlanta it's going to take you where you need, and you'll be in the same traffic as a ride share for $2.50
I wrote about how surprised I still am a candidate for NYC mayor won in large part by talking incessantly about buses, and also about how making them fast as promised will be an immense challenge. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
With Mamdani, the Humble Bus Gets Its Due
Enthusiasm for NYC’s mayor-elect may reflect a little-understood reality about the essential role of buses. Still, making them faster won’t be easy.

One thing I wrote about here is how technology has made buses *way* more convenient while techno-futurists were obsessed with flying taxis and self-driving cars.

I have never in my entire design career been given the latitude to suck as hard as AI does at basic visuals.

It's wild that the same companies that will belittle humans over the wrong shades of blue will also just say, "YOLO, post it" when the magical mediocrity bot makes things.
huh so Google is kicking off the new year by pissing off knitters that’s fun

If you could choose any character to be your Lord of the Rings film cameo, who would you be? I'm leaning towards a goblin archer in the mines of Moriah, for today

In 2026 I want all of the decent people to remember one thing.

You aren’t meant to be this disciplined, this self-sacrificing to survive. The environment is supposed to support good living. We can have that. You are not a failure. That is politics.

That is all.

I just want the world to understand what women pay to be remotely fashionable and comfortable. Bc $600ish for a boot seems not that bad for NYC. I think the most I've paid is $250, but I'm not stylish and I walk everywhere and live in the South

Eleanor of Aquitaine (1122-1204) brought the design of a fireplace with a chimney to both France and England. It was just a hole in the ceiling and a smokey fire pit before that!
Ok folks: what is your favorite fact that you share with people (maybe a bit too) eagerly?

THIS. Did you know sickle cell is curable, now? FULLY curable.

If you're feeling down or despairing about what FEELS like technology/advancement/science "standing still" or being fully malicious, I have great news: You're not paying attention to actual science. Just tech industry marketing.
meanwhile.... medicine has taken INSANE leaps and bounds in the last 2 years.
we're out here curing HIV and leukemia and creating 100% efficacy vaccines against all sorts of cancers, and now this??

between this and renewable energy outstripping fossil fuels in efficiency, the future is bright
Wanna see real-life miracles? Fund scientific research.

A team of US scientists just cured Alzheimer’s in mice — and there is now hope that the disease can be reversed in humans.
