Thank you, Dr. King, for your courage, your sacrifice, your relentless fight for justice. You didn't ask to be remembered. You asked us to act. Honor him today: stand up, find your voice, speak truth to power, and keep walking toward justice. We the People shall overcome.

MLK is the reason I went from liberal to progressive. He transformed the way I look at America, race, religion, and much more.

He was a prophet. One who is still guiding us if we only listen to his actual words.

He saw every bit of this coming. He told us to be urgent. We need to live that out.

Politicians (Pelosi just did it) and institutions routinely misquote MLK on health.

"Health" became "health care" (shrinking a systemic indictment to a service delivery complaint)

"Inhuman" became "inhumane" (a very different word)

"Because it often results in physical death" just disappeared.

Dr. King warned us that racism, economic exploitation, and militarism were the three evils of society. He wasn't about sanitized action to make people comfortable; he was dedicated to ending inequity, redistributing wealth, and dismantling systems of oppression.

When honoring Dr. King's legacy, we must discuss the significance of Coretta Scott King, Dr. Kris Burrell argues. When Coretta declared, “I was called, too,” she insisted we remember her not as a shadow of her husband, but as an equal. 🗃️

“I Was Called, Too:” The Life and Work of Coretta Scott King
In honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy, it is both appropriate—and overdue—to discuss the significance of Coretta Scott King. When Coretta declared, “I was called, too,” she insisted we r…

Feels fitting for Trump's worst poll numbers to come the same day as Zohran's best poll numbers, the same day a judge rules Trump cannot keep detaining Mahmoud Khalil in this way, all while tens of thousands of people nationwide are taking to the streets to defend their neighbors

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.
