The FT has asked whether the global economy can survive another shock. That’s the question of our time. In this video, I explain why that’s a dangerous illusion, how neoliberal policy has made us fragile, and why only courageous governments can prevent systemic collapse. youtu.be/a8qtW9by3Wk?...

Prime example of exceptionalism which is hampering a realistic examination of Brexit.

It seems the UK haulage industry has been dependent on illegal working in our jurisdiction to keep going.

With EES and Etias, that will end.

The UK constitution is even more vulnerable than the US constitution

In the face of an illiberal radical assault, what has happened politically in America could easily happen in the UK

You've GOT to be kidding me!

The Conservatives - who oversaw every single thing on this list - are trying to claim that only the Conservatives would "stop the madness" - that they created...?

So incredulity aside, what about the list itself?

I regret to inform you that Starmer’s been tweeting dehumanising videos of migrants again.

These videos have been shown to increase support for Reform, by increasing salience of migration.

He has to go.

Sorry to burden you with another jaw-dropping scandal. But what the government intends to do to chemicals regulation in the UK is chilling. Its consultation was slipped out so quietly that most of us missed it. When I read it, I saw why.

Jacob Rees-Mogg’s Tory fantasy of a post-Brexit bonfire of regulations is coming true. Our bodies and ecosystems will pay the price, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Financial crime in the UK.

$2trn to $5.5trn dirty money laundered globally.

40% through the UK, its Crown Dependencies, Overseas Territories.

Govt can take out Unexplained Wealth Orders (UWOs) to chase crooks.

2017-2025: 7 UWOs, none since 2019, no prosecutions.

Laws not enforced on the City.
Why the UK is a two-tier society where money wields power
Laws and policies are crafted to give the appearance of sternness and fairness, but are rarely fully enforced on corporations and the rich.

804 were owned by for-profit entities. 30% -40% of fees vanish in profits, leaving less for services.

Profits and care don't mix.
New analysis: most care homes closed by industry regulator are run
A new analysis led by researchers at the University of Oxford and funded by the Nuffield Foundation has found that virtually all care homes forced to close in England by the Care Quality Commission
