Every trans adult was once a trans kid.

Hormone blockers are a compromise and merely a pause button. Let kids experience the same puberty as their peers.

The truly only irreversible thing is puberty.

The only motivation and point for stopping trans kids from accessing medical care is *cruelty*.
The pervasive patriarchal attitude that queer children must be surveilled, abused, and denied all autonomy in order to "correct" them into conforming with their assigned reproductive role is exactly what the GC movement, in manifestos like Shrier's "Irreversible Damage", is peddling.
An autobiographical essay about anti-trans child conversion therapy and the place of queer children under patriarchy.

I am quite literally the most amateur of a creative writer one could be. Virgin lol

And yet the past few days of having people interact with something I created for fun, and a bit of healing have been giving me life.

Writing genuinely is fun.
Gr8 stuff 👌 I r8 8/8 ❤️‍🔥🫶
I have a mental list of things I would fix about the books I’ve released, and if I could, I would. But it’s better to move on, and not just because moving on pays the rent better; writing more means *I get to write more*, and that’s way more fun.

I'm in love with this story, and you should read it immediately. Hel is a fantastic writer and storyteller. 💕

I want to note also in a BMJ interview from the 19th her and her collaborators have said they intend to force kids on PBs to "take a break" before starting HRT- i.e. forcing them through puberty that they don't want.

44/ 25:36 Cass claims "the central aim is to help young people thrive and achieve their life goals" (doubt).

She then declares that distress and barriers to participation in everyday life be addressed to create a "stable enough state" BEFORE allowing access to medical transition. This is dogshit

honestly in hindsight my decision at like 20 to lose a bunch of time and come to at the bus stop down the road from my dorm was an A+ move in that it got me to finally stop repressing what I’d known to be true since my earliest memory

Please share this widely. There have been 13 peer-reviewed critiques of the Cass Review, to the extent that academia regards it as pseudoscience, but so far all have been subject to organised censorship by mainstream media. This is the first time one has broken through. Oz Guardian only still.
Worked hard to get this into Guardian Oz & big props to @fiercemum.bsky.social for setting it up & Melissa Davey for publishing it. She will doubtless get loads of hassle from transphobes for it, but it needs to be out there.

11/ The righthand section is somehow even worse, with the claim that they can "resolve gender dysphoria without transition" (conversion therapy) and that a settled (cisgender) sexuality makes you stop being trans - the implication for this one being that gays and lesbians are being 'transed'.

Cis people really have no idea how it feels to watch a regime hold a press conference to admit, on camera, the pogrom against trans people they've been waging for 11 months is not only real, but they're going to double down on genocide and try to wipe out all the children first.

Preventing trans girls from going through male puberty is LIFESAVING.

The treatment available for gender dysphoria is genuinely unique for two reasons.

1️⃣
The sheer EFFICACY. A satisfaction rate of around 99%, that shows up again and again in the lion's share of most reputable studies.

And two...➡️
helping her be a woman would keep her safe.
We listened, we adapted. We helped as much as we could to access care and support but it was hard. In the end it wasn’t enough, she’d gone through a puberty that devastated her, it was too late, she tried so hard to live 4/
