Fatherhood is: driving across town blasting Dio, but still arriving with the "Molly of Denali" theme stuck in your head.

Texas is doing winter like a college student does their English paper: ignoring it for weeks, then cramming it all into a weekend-long Adderall bender.

Go home, Spotify. You are drunk.

Fun fact! The reason it's called the "Second Amendment" is because there's actually an entire rest of the Constitution, too!

I am once again begging right-wingers to read a fucking history book. No, Bill O'Reilly doesn't count.

Till Shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder's eye on the Last Day.

The guy shot two random people with a gun, I don't think you can say he wasn't assimilating into our culture
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

In medieval Constantinople, getting booed at a sporting event was often a sign that an Emperor's reign was about to come to a dramatic conclusion.
Every politician gets booed at games at some point, but I genuinely don’t remember an elected official getting booed for this long at a sporting event.

Trying out a new ab workout. It's definitely got those muscles sore!

My eight year old just told me, in surprising detail for his age, all about the Punic Wars. Apparently he learned it all today. So yeah, his teacher kicks ass.

Dipped my toe in Europa Universalis V during my lunch break. Most complex, incomprehensible game I've ever seen. I *love it.*

I have decided that @patrickwyman.bsky.social is the David Attenborough of history. Listening to a podcast description of a hypothetical average ancient date farmer in the Babylonian economy and it's genuinely fascinating.

I wish Spotify had a one-touch "play all of this artist's studio albums in release order" button. You can tell it to play *all* of their releases, but that often means hearing two or three versions of the same song in a single listening session because of singles, live albums, etc.

I swear, taking a sick day sends up some kind of Reverse Bat Signal. "Quickly, Gotham! Find something to need from Alex! Doesn't matter if you haven't needed anything in weeks. Now is the time!"
