The "i love your novel" spam is one thing. The "send me a message" spam are just stupid. Like try harder.

First they went after radio. Then they went after tv. Because video kills everything. Including the radio stars.

I'm happy my podcast is audio only. Because fuck off. And because no one is going to want to watch my mug. Also: the podcast is about print. Going to video would be some dumb irony.

They never talk about how much, I don't know, roads cost.
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

The thing about the current administration is they make everyone dumber.
I first thought this graf in the Atlantic piece defending Bari Weiss was parody, but the whole column is so misbegotten, I think now it might just be sincere.

Global TV is a low-effort conservative-leaning private network, and this wasn’t “treachery” this was “it was the weekend before Christmas and they just broadcast the episode that was sent to them digitally by CBS on Friday”, no one in the office on the weekend even if CBS tried to warn them
From the Atlantic attempt to justify Bari Weiss' decision. What's Canadian for "perfidious Albion?"

The thing is everything these people do is about not being respected by the people they most want respect from and so they do things that widens the gulf and this feeds their resentment and so they do dumber things and their hate for the people who ignore them grows. It’s self-fulfilling. A circle.

CBS paid the president of the United States millions in bribe money and now they censor news reports so it does not annoy him. I don’t know how much plainer we can put this.

So Bari Weiss’s first real editorial intervention at CBS is to repress coverage of American concentration camps.

When you say "no comment" you have, indeed, made a comment.

Or, as Neil Peart once wrote, "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice."

In case you need to hear it from someone who was raised Hindu: Usha is not a hostage, she is an accomplice. She is culpable. Fuck her and the fascists she colludes with. May she go down with all of them. As Zohran ably demonstrates, our communities do not aspire to whiteness & don’t seek to appease.
Vance's latest rant has set off another misguided round of "free Usha" rhetoric. This isn't just inaccurate--she's wholly a part of this fascist project--it's dangerous. We can no longer afford to imagine fascism as smaller than it is. Hindu fascism is vast, too. No religion is immune.
