Queer, trans, non-binary, etc. Our existence is not up for debate. No time for that crap anyways, too busy trying to build a better world in the face of all odds. Current project: sand in the gears of tyranny. Follow ≠ support.

Q: Will you assure House Democrats they'll get a vote on ACA subsidies by a date certain?
MIKE JOHNSON: Ah -- no. I'm not promising anyone anything.

Update, I have placed a bid with the auction house. I'm also able to pick the items up later in the month after the purchase so that's all worked out. If people want to throw some funds in this direction we can talk.

It is 3am in Korea and I'm trying to organize a thing. Not my favorite thing to do! But I have to give it a try. There is an auction for the remainder of the Mark Pines collection and I'm trying to organize a bid. Need money and I'm trying to coordinate a phone bid as well. A real hail mary pass.

There are some really harrowing details in this article. Nonetheless, if you have the stomach for it, you should read it, and keep in mind that the people who run the U.S. government don't just tolerate this, they approve of it, and brag about how tough on criminals that makes them.

A long and comprehensive opinion, but this jumped out at me: The judge accused the Federal Protective Service—which was called in to suppress the protests—of lying under oath to slander the regular Portland police.😬

A historical fact, the majority (whoever they are) claim, is all the sex marker is. But that's not how it works. The U.S. government claims that one's assigned sex at birth IS the person's sex (and gender) forever. And that's the point of the policy: to remove acknowledgment of our simple existence.
NEW: On the shadow docket, the Supreme Court lets Trump resume misgendering trans Americans on their passports, claiming "the government is merely attesting to a historical fact without subjecting anyone to differential treatment." All three liberals dissent. www.documentcloud.org/documents/26...

It's impossible to overstate how much of what ICE is doing on the ground reflects this completely preposterous conflation of hostile *speech* and hostile *conduct.*
The First Amendment protects—or, at least, is supposed to protect—the former up and until it's a "true threat," which none of this is.
The First Amendment protects—or, at least, is supposed to protect—the former up and until it's a "true threat," which none of this is.
From Bovino's deposition: (1) he calls protestors "violent" if they articulate views hostile to ICE, even if no violence is manifested; (2) he instructs his forces to attack and arrest protestors who express "hyperbolic comments," which is to say, criticism of ICE and Bovino.

Teen Vogue has become a top-tier political journalism authority and doing this the day before election day is just cruel.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.
certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
