Excerpt from Trump's executive order of August 25, 2025, entitled "ADDITIONAL MEASURES TO ADDRESS THE CRIME EMERGENCY IN THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA": "(ii) The Secretary of Defense shall immediately begin ensuring that each State’s Army National Guard and Air National Guard are resourced, trained, organized, and available to assist Federal, State, and local law enforcement in quelling civil disturbances and ensuring the public safety and order whenever the circumstances necessitate, as appropriate under law. In coordination with the respective adjutants general, the Secretary of Defense shall designate an appropriate number of each State’s trained National Guard members to be reasonably available for rapid mobilization for such purposes. In addition, the Secretary of Defense shall ensure the availability of a standing National Guard quick reaction force that shall be resourced, trained, and available for rapid nationwide deployment."

The Tennessee law doesn't say "only people with a formal diagnosis of dysphoria can get treatment", it bars HRT or surgery for gender dysphoria for everyone under age no matter what. Human bodies as art is unrelated. But sure, NYT, point the finger everywhere but the lawmakers and the bigots.

It's way way past time for a cute animal picture. So here's one. Source: me and my camera, and the cutie pie who lives with me and reluctatly poses for these shots. (She's happy to just lie around looking adorable until the camera comes out.)
My kitty, a mostly white calico, with black and orange markings on her chin, is stretched out on the couch, head tilted back so her eyes and nose are not visible but only the mouth and throat, inviting a scritch. One paw is folded against her body while the other is loosely extended towards the camera. If left to her own devices, she'll go right to sleep in this position.

I was on the scene that day as a legal observer, not visible in the photo.

Excerpt from the article; Dr. Ahmad al-Farra, a senior administrator at Nasser Hospital, a medical center in Khan Younis a few miles from the site of the shootings, said in a phone interview that the hospital had received 19 of those killed, starting from about 6 a.m. Dr. al-Farra said that most of the victims were children aged between 10 and 13, many with gunshot wounds to the head or chest. Their bodies were carried much of the way to the hospital, he said, because ambulances could not safely reach the area where the shooting occurred.

Excerpt from order: "At today’s emergency hearing, the Court ordered Defendants to maintain custody and control of class members currently being removed to South Sudan or to any other third country, to ensure the practical feasibility of return if the Court finds that such removals were unlawful. While the Court leaves the practicalities of compliance to Defendants’ discretion, Defendants have ensured, and the Court expects, that class members will be treated humanely. The Court has further ordered that Defendants be prepared at tomorrow’s prescheduled hearing to identify by name the affected class members and to address: (1) the time and manner of notice each individual received as to their third-country removal; and (2) what opportunity each individual had to raise a fear-based claim. In the event that Defendants determine that N.M. is not a class member, or was otherwise removed to any country other than South Sudan, Defendants must nonetheless be prepared to address the details of his removal, including when and to where he was removed, the names of individuals personally involved in executing his removal, and any information currently in Defendants’ possession regarding his current whereabouts."

Excerpt from 11th CIrcuit opinion, page 57: "Plus, Chesebrough’s definition of “lewd” shows how “lewd conduct”—unlike the Act’s other, more specific prohibitions—is decidedly in the eye of the beholder. Do same-sex relations “signify[] that form of immorality which has a relation to sexual impurity”? Chesebrough, 255 So. 2d at 677. What about out-of-wedlock sex? Or most pertinent here, dressing in clothes typically associated with the non-birth-assigned gender? In the context of an otherwise quite specific statute, the “lewd conduct” provision is a prosecutorial skeleton key allowing “policemen, judges, and juries” to unlock penalties and punish speech on “an ad hoc and subjective basis.” Grayned, 408 U.S. at 109."
