Same. There's no excuse at this point. Substack's willingness to platform and help fund Nazis is well known.
Email: "Hey there! I'm so excited to announce I'm moving this newsletter mailing list from _______ to Substack!"

Thread (and not just because I'm mentioned.) Buying direct from a small press maximizes the amount that goes to the creators. And, yeah, this is a good time to do that.
#Booksky 1/2 Real talk: the Press and several of our authors are based in Minneapolis, which is experiencing a significant government-fueled assault on our people, our communities and our local economy. And I have a LOT of bills to pay this month. queenofswordspress.com/product/comp...

This applies to this imprint too.
I just want to make something explicitly clear as a publisher.

If you are using generative AI, we will not work with you.

No AI art, writing, brainstorming, nothing.

I won't entertain any debate or attempts to get us to change this policy.
Since it apparently must be said again:

The use of Generative AI at any point in the composition of a piece of writing does mean, according to our policies, that it is ineligible to be read on The Voice of Dog.

"Just for research" is not an acceptable excuse.

It’s publication day for my short story collection, The Analog Cat! ⌚🐈

If you enjoy the kind of whimsical nonsense I post to social media, my fiction is pretty much the same thing but longer and with a plot.

I just read this article on the impact of AI on translation.
The Costs of Instant Translation
AI might soon rob us of the thrill and challenge of cross-cultural conversation.

I’ve always enjoyed stories by @huskyteer.co.uk but there’s such a back catalogue - it’s fantastic that so many will now all be in one place

I’m very much looking forward to this collection being released

This was an absolute joy to create, thank you again for the very on-brand commission!! I love robots/cyborgs of all stripes, and an excuse to perpetrate some skeuomorphic design. 💙

Is this my beautiful house? Is this my beautiful life?
Two books for spooky season:
COFFIN MOON, Keith Rosson: Best modern vampire story ever (although it's set in the 70s).
THE TWISTED ONES, by T. Kingfisher: It lures you in with chatty good humor (especially about NPR Pledge Week) and a lovely dog...then slams the door and bites you in the dark.

I took advantage of @bookshop.org’s anti-Prime sale. I ordered @tkingfisher.com’s pre-order books and some other books I’d been meaning to pick up. Quite a boon that even pre-order books got free shipping.

UNBOUND AUTHORS: I’m speaking to a solicitor about our fine mess. If you have ANY correspondence with the company (beyond the “Dear Author” letters we all got) in 2024 about nonpayment or about the company’s financial stability, could I see it? I’m opening my DMs for this (don’t make me regret that)
