Last week was my last week at Iron Gate - After three years working on Valheim, it's time to start looking for new adventures elsewhere.

If you know someone looking for a kickass Tech Artist/Programmer, hit me up. Happy to work either remote, or on-site in Stockholm.

Of course: to a company it's always workplace misconduct to organize a union. Hope everyone affected gets justice.
This is the most ruthless act of union busting in the history of the UK games industry. Yesterday, @rockstargames.com unfairly fired over 30 employees for union activity.

We won't back down, and we're not scared - we will fight for every member to be reinstated.
BREAKING: Yesterday Grand Theft Auto VI maker Rockstar Games fired dozens of people, all of whom were involved in union efforts. A British union calls it "blatant and ruthless" union-busting. Take-Two Interactive says it was due to misconduct.

In what might be my last GDC, I got to meet Sabrina over at GLAAD. She was serious about lowering barriers for queer game devs and made good on it with this program.

tl;dr: GDC all acess + 2k stipend for early to mid career gaybies. Due date Nov 10.

Have they made a device yet that records your story thoughts as you walk home from the station and lug up four flights of stairs? Honestly having my best ideas that just disappear the moment I get in the door, like a slippery ferret from my hands

Followed this advice and had a pretty smashing first roundtable 💪🏻
I often get asked: "How do I host a good roundtable?" by folks who want to do their own.

So I wrote an article explaining the whole roundtable process from start to finish: rystorm.com/blog/how-to-host-a-good-roundtable-at-at-conference

Always remember: Iron fist, Velvet glove, folks rely on you!
How to host a good Roundtable at a Conference — Robin-Yann Storm, Product & UX Designer for Tools
A good roundtable is organised with an iron fist, and a velvet glove. You have to control the crowd, but let the discussion flow freely.

Yippee it's finally here! Supporting my local bookstore means I have to wait a bit sometimes, but this is well worth the wait. :) @rdansky.bsky.social

It's true.
The reason?

Game development regularly mistakes 'change' for 'iteration'.

Iteration is a constructive process of development where ideas develop and refine over time. In game development, far too often the process is not iteration, but wholesale change, often without notice.

Deutschlandfunk calling Kirk a "right-wing conservative activist" (rechtskonservativ) and summarizing the incident in their one-sentence-blurb as "Trump blames the extreme left for the killing of right-wing conservative activist Kirk" is quite the choice.

New video! Old news, new package: AI, Procedural Generation, UGC, in-game trading, Blockchain, and the Metaverse

Why are game developers so adverse to these technologies? The best way to find out is by asking folks who have lived through the history of game development.
