This drives me mad.
I love architecture exhibition text. It really helps the general public understand things.

It’s really important that #Vancouver’s Downtown Business Association, who were originally against bike-lanes, are now among their most vigourous supporters, because of ACTUAL EVIDENCE that they’re better for downtown business than any street parking they replaced.

Safe bike-lanes mean business.

This works for climate action too.
Remember: If we allow ourselves to fall into fatalism, or wallow in disappointment, or become resigned to what is rather than what should be, we will lose the long game.

The greatest enemy of positive social change is cynicism about what can be changed.

“Intensive dairying is only wildly profitable as long as the sector is allowed a free ride to produce massive pollution impacts.”

John Gibbons doesn’t mince his words, giving an honest appraisal of the environmental outcomes of dairy.

John Gibbons: Saying nuclear power is better for the environment than solar is ludicrous
The idea that intensive dairy farming is some kind of pastoral idyll with no impact on the environment has been allowed to take hold to the point that serious people are now suggesting nuclear reactor...

Stayed up until 2am (bottom of the 5th, or maybe top - I’m just throwing out random words rn) watching Game 7 of the MLB World Series because of all the chatter on here. Never watched baseball before, kinda get it now.

What’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever done? I don’t mean “cheating on your partner” stupid, I mean stupid stupid. Like, once, I had this bubble bath which smelled absolutely delicious, so I took a big glug of it. That kind of stupid. (It did not taste delicious.)

‘When your framing is off, then how you make decisions and set priorities is off. THAT’s the problem.’

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
(I’m so stealing that line. And probably the buckets too.)
If you take the time to read the whole Gates memo (which I did), the bulk of the content was mostly solid and encouraging. Really!

It was the FRAME that was off--very off, from the first line.

And when your framing is off, then how you make decisions and set priorities is off. THAT'S the problem.

i would again like to remind everyone that NEGATING A FRAME REINFORCES IT

"he's not really targeting criminals" makes it an argument about criminality

"this is a fascist attack" states what is actually happening

START WITH WHAT IT IS
not what it isn't
