I find it very frustrating how much people complain about late 10s/early 20s Twitter hivemind while still constantly participating in the behaviors that created it.

Latest read (New Testament to be specific). I like the four gospels a lot (best: John, worst: Luke, too crypytic). Good characters, story and a lot of great morals often conveyed through figurative language, rhetorical question, simile etc.

Louis Small passed away. We worked on Vampirella at the same time and talked on the phone, comparing notes.
Louis' work was far superior, better drawn, sexier, the stories deftly told. He should have been a star.
He is to me.
Rest in peace.

this is a far more explicit death threat from people with the actual means to carry it out

The amount of times a heard a variation of

‘It‘s happening, so it must be legal’

or

‘It’s not legal, so it can’t be happening’

is honestly astonishing 🫤.

I love 80s and 90s fantasy art…Larry Elmore, Boris Vallejo, John Howe (and many others) defined how fantasy looks to me. Hate it when people complain about ‘old-fashioned’ or ‘dated’ fantasy art.

My second completed 'Liam Sharp's Conan' portfolio piece created exclusively for the wonderful Lake Como Comic Art Festival! Another scene I have wanted to draw for many many decades! 🙂

Anyway. I go to shows+ comic shops and see tons of male readers, male camaraderie, and general community-building. So we know it exists. It isn't just *gone,* as a lot of these think pieces suggest. But it has *moved.* It's following the arc of the general culture toward visual media.

Latest read. A globetrotting adventure tale of a Robert E Howard character that I hadn’t seen much before. Absolutely gorgeous artwork, intricate story & characters, I loved it. Rich in history & designs.

I really need people to understand that alt text is difficult for some people. I have a TBI that makes describing things extremely difficult. It would be nice if these pleas came with ways to help create alt text, but, at this point, I get that certain disabilities are more important than others.
Artists PLEASE I am begging you to use alt text on your art. I want to support you and RT your art but I'm not going to if it does have alt text, and there are so, so many people who feel the same

In twenty years, people will be like

"The one good thing Trump did was kill Epstein"

(similar to those Hitler suicide jokes) and nobody will take any responsibility for protecting these sex traffickers.

New books have arrived 🙂. Three recommended by my brother, and a comic book I preordered ages ago (I don’t think I ever waited this long for a book…).

Reading Gen X right now, and digging the design, powers, and character of henchman Fever Pitch. A more extreme Chamber, where his abilities burned away everything but his skeleton (and presumably, keep him alive).

I have like 99% of my good ideas while showering or cycling😑

Worse, during uni, I seemed to always have some immensely important epiphany right when falling asleep 😴. I hear that’s why Lewis Carrol invented the nyctograph.
Brains are so wierd. Struggling for 30 minutes to find the right phrasing for something and coming up blank.

Stand up, walk around a bit, do a task, and the perfect phrase pops instantly into your head.

Latest read. A story in the tradition of legends like Sir Orfeo and fae tales like those of changelings. A tale of two worlds (material & transient vs magic & eternal) colliding, and the love between members of both worlds. Whimsical read, could have done w/o the unicorn hunting though.

Some of the people hating on Funkos right now 20 years ago would’ve told you ‘LEGO is just for kids’.

Calm down, let people enjoy some ugliness.

This shit is so bleak. If we had any sense at all, we'd ban chatbots and charge their CEOs w/ public endangerment. We're not even dying to Terminators or cool Matrix squids. LLMs pick which life-saving public services to end, coach kids to end their lives, & catfish retirees into pointless deaths.
Months after a cognitively impaired New Jersey man died while trying to meet up with a flirty Meta AI chatbot, ‘Big sis Billie’ was still romancing users, tests by Reuters show reut.rs/45DQIRj @jeffhorwitz.bsky.social
