Homan to MN, Trump speaks with Walz, Leavitt marginally distances Trump from Noem—all show Trump’s feeling a little heat. But these gestures mean as much as Putin suggesting he’s changed and wants peace with Ukraine.

Don’t fall for it.

Insist: ICE and CBP off the streets of Minnesota.

“I just checked—it turns out that Art. II, Sec. 1 of the Constitution of the United States does *not* say ‘The executive Power shall be vested in a bunch of sociopaths who think they can do whatever the f*ck they want and make sh*t up as they go along.’” — George Conway

Stephen Miller is a very sick person, more so, IMO, than the president. And he is calling the shots.

I remember when Terry Moran dared to make this observation and got fired from ABC for it.

As of this week, millions of Americans are now paying thousands more for health insurance.

If the President and Congressional GOP think Washington has the capacity to "run" Venezuela right now, why won't they fix the insurance cost crisis they've created here at home?

Do not give in. This is an existential crisis for democracy. Giving in will not help and ACA subsidies will not be voted in.

This is, unsurprisingly, nonsensical. Is he suggesting eliminating health insurance and giving people a few thousand dollars instead? And then when they get a cancer diagnosis they just go bankrupt?

He is so unserious. That's why we are shut down and Americans know it.

Again BAD JOB
Remember April 2009 when about 250,000 people took to America’s streets in Tea Party rallies and the media was like “oh man, the Dems are in trouble?” Approximately 28X as many people took to the streets to protest Trump yesterday. Didn’t even make the NYT front page.
In April of 2009 I observed the Tea Party rally in Salem. As this front page story says, there were a couple hundred people there. This past weekend in Salem there were roughly 2-3000 people at the Hands Off rally. Yet the Tea Party coverage seemed to take that event far more seriously.

BAD JOB AGAIN
The paper edition doesn’t bother me so much for all these reasons. But the NYT started its coverage way later than all other news orgs, including daily papers, ran it smaller and much further down. And the pieces seemed half-asses and even precutting their thin coverage.
Tempted to do a thread about front page design, why newspapers dislike protest stories and really dislike tearing up Sunday A1s (the most micromanaged page at any paper) to make them fit. All of which most people yelling about front pages know, but ignore for RTs.

However, the weather is nice.

Collect a claim from one side, collect a claim from the other, present them both to the reader with an awkward shrug and a "who can say?"

And the photo choice -- Noem's looking down ... on what? The reverse angle showed a small crowd and a quiet street. But can't show that, it's biased to one side!
A classic case of irresponsible both-sidesism from the NYT. The story is that Trump and MAGA propagandists are lying about Portland to incite a conflict, not that there are different views of the matter.
