Pretti clearly did not brandish his gun. Which means the government is saying he was killed for legally exercising his right to carry.
It’s as clear-cut a violation of the Second Amendment as I can possibly imagine. And we’re about to see the bulk of the gun rights crowd defend his murder.

When they say Trump calling a reporter "piggy" is "just being honest," they are revealing a key feature of the reactionary mind: it believes, at a deep brainstem level, that *everyone* is awful & selfish & ugly on the inside. Everyone just suppresses it out of fear of social disapproval. Not Trump!

Yes. If DHS can barge in, say your visa was revoked, be told you have a green card, say it's revoked too, and then disappear you so that neither your lawyer nor your family can find you, then all the guardrails are gone. There is no policy, practice, or law protecting anyone.

I'm naive enough to have had a lot of faith in my country because I know a lot of wonderful people who live here and have a desire to do better. I want this country to be able to do better, and live by the ideals it claims to strive for, but this just has me sick and ashamed.
