I have put together the AutisticSky feed, showing all posts and threads containing autism related words and tags. Hope you find it useful.

This is the first photo that I have seen of the packaging. Regardless of whether we love/hate the autistic barbie, it's great for the community that they are giving @autisticadvocacy.org this visibility.
Forget the part about "more light", it simply won't get bright today 😅 Here are some pictures. I will post some thoughts in the comments.

Does anyone know the name of the software for turning head tracking into mouse movements? I seem to remember one paired a forehead dot with it.

Any suggestions for a kdrama to watch? I've liked Twenty Five Twenty One and Extraordinary Attorney Woo and am looking for something similar (slightly escapist, but not fantasy, occasional sob). Ideally on UK Netflix.

Just learned 'access fatigue' 🤯

meaning: the effects of constantly having to explain, teach, & reinvent access. This demand wears us down, shapes how we see ourselves, and makes pushing for inclusion harder.

It IS exhausting. I'm so glad I have the vocabulary for this now.

Just six minutes into watching the video and Georgia has already nailed it. The problem with the "is autism overdiagnosed?" debate is that (by using a sleight of hand) "overdiagnosed" doesn't mean what you think it means.

Which type / number of dice is the most satisfying to roll? Personally, I’m leaning towards two six-sided dice, I think, but I’m interested in what other people feel. (Re-skeets appreciated).

Also realising that in this case, *size is important*.

A really interesting and important article.

If you limit the words that a person can use, you control what they can say.

She was suspended for quoting a Johnny Cash lyric and won't be allowed back on until she has made a Folsom apology.
The account owner of @sarahkendzior.bsky.social was suspended for 72 hours for expressing a desire to shoot the author of an article. The post, made 11/10, stated: "I want to shoot the author of this article just to watch him die." 1/2

Reminder!!

Bluesky has a pronoun labeler you should really use!

Only those who subscribe to this will see it so you should do that. Don't worry, that's all it does.
Instructions are in the bio/first post.

This autistic artist is doing their life story as a graphic novel ("The Big Soup: Growing up Autistic"). Looks good.

Follow them for more work in progress.
Here are some inks, before I fix/edit them and apply shading. This scene could do with just a little more context, but it's spread out over many prior pages, which I can fit here: I was misbehaving more around this time, which explains my keyworker/LSW's mood (1/2)

Some more work-in-progress panels from the College era (shading and tweaks having been applied yet). The part of Cardiff we lived in was rather unpleasant.

For any Babylon 5 fans.

Closing down Wednesday 29th. Last chance to buy any of these unique books.
PART ONE

Twenty years ago, publishing entrepreneur Jaclyn Easton came to me with a risky but innovative idea: b5books.com, a publishing entity built around one show, Babylon 5, its participants and fans. This wouldn’t be what was usually done, aftermarket making-of books --

**CALL FOR PAPERS**

Upcoming workshop at QMUL in January, looking at autism, focused interests, and communication across diverse contexts. How can we centre autistic interests as a strength rather than a symptom?

Contributions outside academia welcome.

I'm looking for a Spotify alternative for students (in the UK). Does anyone have any recommendations?

Qobuz seems like the best option from what I've read so far, except that they only offer 2 years at the student price, while others offer 4.

Great new video of Korean hardcore punk band Slant performing live at the Concrete Jungle festival.

Small audience gives 110% as band deserves.

Filmed by Palesights (Athipat Nenyod) who documents the music scene in Thailand.

Let me clarify a few things!

1. People in wheelchairs can have sex.
2. Girls who are paralyzed can get pregnant and give birth.
3. We do not sleep in our wheelchairs.
4. We can speak for ourselves.
5. Every injury is different.
6. Some can feel and some can’t.

A text book example of how a social media ceo communicates their reasoning and actions to users (others take note).

Also some useful technical information for those unclear on exactly what bans mean on a distributed social media platform.
I hear and see your concerns. Over the weekend, a couple users hosted on Blacksky's PDS were banned from the Bluesky app and thus the Bluesky API servers. This was a weakness of our system I've been aware of and hoped we had more time to address before any kind of public incident. 1/11

Recommend this (free) event.

I came across Estas some time ago through a document they submitted to the UN Committee for the Rights of the People with Disabilities. It seems like an interesting self-advocacy group, though I couldn't find much info about it at the time.
In two weeks, we welcome Jang Jiyong (장지용, aka Alvis) of Estas to Edinburgh, to talk about Korea and the status of Autistic people in the country.

We will also talk a bit about AMASE and autism in Scotland.

At the Old College and online, 1pm BST/9pm KST on Saturday 11th October.
