I'm doing conceptual sketches for my D&D campaign(s) while watching the Seahawks earn their way to the Superbowl. The duality of man

Still thinking about (though I'll force myself to stop soon) this person I saw on another social media site whose pinned post was a link to their discord server with the caveat that it's mostly right-wing folks but they want more leftist/liberals to join for more of a "variety of viewpoints".

Seeing Zohran instantly getting a bunch of shit done in like a week makes you realize that politicians could always do that on some level if they wanted it bad enough and very few of them actually do.

Unsurprising that the most active white supremacist weirdos are also the least attractive individuals you have ever witnessed. Superior genes where, sir?

I fell into a funk over the summer with reading and just couldn't get myself to do it. I'm happy to report I've already finished 2 full-length non-fiction books this year!

I took myself on a transit movie date and it was nice! I got some ramen and gyoza and saw the 40th anniversary edition of a childhood fave, Labyrinth. The Northgate transit area is...interesting, but I didn't cross much actual traffic to get from the station to Thornton Place, so it's an A from me!

This cool historical building was under construction when I lived in Belltown. I'm so stoked to read that the restored apartments will be affordable for the next 100 years!

I don't want to be a huge downer, but I really don't know if anyone is going to stop Trump from taking over Greenland. Denmark likely wouldn't risk full-blown war with the US over land that is largely independent anyway. I honestly think that this is probably just going to happen.

Dr. Tara Goddard, whose research is prominently featured in this video, was my MUP advisor at Texas A&M. I gasped out loud when I heard her name and I'm glad she's back in California! Everyone should check out the video and the research!!!

All of my travel mugs have been lost inside of the car (another peril of auto-centric travel) so I put my morning coffee in a mason jar like the annoying little hipster I am 😆

I have 2 degrees from A&M system universities. This is all so embarrassing for current and former students, staff, and faculty. Will people in other parts of the country take me less seriously because my degrees come from an institution that has decided to take education in general less seriously?
From an email to one of our faculty members....

Not even Plato can escape censorship at Texas A&M!

We decided to do dry January on a whim, and as this first weekend winds down, I'm realizing that I don't know when the last weekend I DIDN'T drink was. And whenever it was, it was almost certainly not deliberate.

Instead of whatever this is, we should have a government getting lots of new homes and apartments built, lots of clean energy built, lots of high speed rail and transit and bike lanes built, human rights for everyone, economic & healthcare opportunities for all, & innovation that leads the world.

Katie Wilson has officially taken the oath of office. In her speech, she pledged to fight for Seattle’s artists, activists and ordinary people who make it run, and liberate residents’ time from the grind of capitalism, saying the city should “honor what you're doing when you’re not making money.”

I'm on the Link with Shaun Scott after the inauguration of Katie Wilson. I'm actually incredibly stoked about the future of Seattle 🌲🏙️🚇

One of the smartest things any city can do is make public transit completely free on holidays like NYE. A free bus/train could be the difference between someone choosing to drive drunk and knowing there are safer (and free!) alternatives.

I had never heard so many references to the solstice until I moved to Seattle...

It's really awesome and cool when someone gets upset at you for "ignoring them" when you didn't hear them because you have auditory processing issues, and then you're still being accused of ignoring them despite explaining repeatedly that you didn't hear them. Cool and normal stuff

It turns out that when you ask for help, you can receive help! And then everything isn't so overwhelming and scary!

We've gotten absolutely pummeled with rain in the PNW, but all that water is running right out again (through houses and farms and towns...).

What we really need is snow, to hold the moisture in place and get us through our dry summers, but that will get more and more rare as the climate warms.
Snowpack off to a terrible start across the Western U.S. with no relief in sight.

Sentences like this make me crazy. The "vehicle" hit the woman? All on its own?

I think we will be professional plumbers very shortly here, now that we've cleaned out just about every drain in the house. I'm just glad we've been able to fix most of the issues ourselves, but I don't want to think about how many tenants' worth of gunk we've removed...
