I published ONE story in 2025: LAST TRAIN FROM DEADWALL is my Weird novelette about diesel-powered skeletons, dinosaur bone trains, warring gods, & capitalist horror.

It's wacky fun! It's Locus recommended! I'd be honoured if you considered it in your nominations!

BEOWULF meets NEON GENESIS: EVANGELION when an orphaned priest turned fungal mech pilot finds a way to wreak revenge on the necromantic colonizers who brought her in to deal with a monster destroying their oil fields.
Time to eat your vegetables again y'all! What's a one-sentence elevator pitch for your book? If you need help, [thing] meets [thing] is a great baseline. #WritingPrompt

Thinking again of how so many of the most interestingly engaging, nuanced, flawed, and lovable male characters in SFF are written by women. Especially thinking of men in this category defined by their relationships with masculinity and the patriarchies of their worlds.

movie you've watched more than six times (gif version). no LOTR, Star Wars, Marvel, Disney

There are dozens I could choose from, but this is the only movie ever I've seen more than six times _in theatres_

Same as it ever was, but Canadians truly need to wake up to the violence this so-called country actively outfits and profits from (and always has).

From timber for slave ships to armoured vehicles for ICE, this country is built on and funded by genocide.
A premium example of what the United States does in the light Canada does in the dark

I actually think it’s the perfect choice. It’s a bone bleached by sun, the 500 year old styrofoam still intact on polluted soil, a noxious fume billowing into sky, corporate minimalist interior, a splotch on an x-ray, the afterlives of the present.
Pantone’s 2026 color of the year is technically not a color at all — meet Cloud Dancer, the first-ever white shade to receive the designation from the world’s color authority.
Pantone makes a surprising choice for its 2026 color of the year

Alberta government using the "We have to protect the children," excuse to avoid anyone challenging the laws they put in place specifically to harm the children is a hell of a thing.

If you're outside Alberta, talking about this issue will help. This article explains what's happening and also gives further context with how the UCP also used the notwithstanding clause to legislate striking teachers back to work, taking rights away from them
