I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

Those who worded the Constitution weren't really any better than Trump.

Constitutions are not gifts to the masses. They constitute the state, which empowers ppl to wield power over the rest of us. They let ppl who buy their way into the system make laws and use police and soldiers to impose those laws for their own benefit.

I think a good way to conceptualize how the American govt views its relationship with Israel is sort of like the relationship between Britain and the East India Company
This is a good example of obvious bullshit and why conspiratorial antisemitism makes you dumb. No, it doesn’t actually make sense to think the DHS gov account is managed out of Israel. that’s actually a really stupid thing to think.

For the Disability community, losing Alice Wong is like losing Ursula Le Guin or Octavia Butler. She was a powerhouse, a pioneer, and a mentor to many. She taught me so much. And always reminded me what we were fighting towards, as well as against. I miss her clarity, bravery, and joy.

Something people will say sometimes is that the Italian fascists weren't as racist as the German Nazis. They never explain tho how Italians could do a genocide in Libya without being extremely racist.

Israel's not the first country to colonize using justification of prior historical presence. Italy did the same when it colonized Libya in 1911 on the premise of the ancient Roman Empire's history there. Italy claimed it would cultivate land that Berbers, Bedouins & Turks had left to the desert.

Under the patriarchy raping a child is so normalized it's less alarming than two male presidents engaging in oral sex. That's the problem.
