Do y’all know of any kind of guided mediation that is like, “Soften your gaze. Relax your body. If your thoughts wander to trying to decode the Epstein files and ensure these fuckers receive justice, return to your breath.”

Cause that’s what I need

I forgot that part where graduate school is no different than low level depression, this is awesome.

(Thesis edits continue. Now onto presentation slides.)

We cannot have the technical future we want if the model we're accidentally building is: every developer feels unpredictably on-call, forever, with no end.

This is coming from our cultural defaults and our mental models about what productivity IS. You do not have to buy into it.

I remarked to a friend earlier this week that I was getting about as much done as if I was living in Palm Springs again.
The rains being back are a good thing.

me, having not looked at the thesis since Thursday: "I am making zero progress and why is everything the worst. I hate it here, I hate myself, I hate everything."

I just received this text from one of our neighbors in hiding ...

"In this country, the good people outnumber the bad."
I helped mobilize a group of neighbors to provide direct aid to nearly 50 families who are in hiding from ICE.

These folks deserve fresh, familiar foods. So we're purchasing groceries direct from neighborhood Latino markets whenever we can.

Venmo @kristina-halvorson to help, and please repost.

Hi attorneys! Want to not be able to get to sleep tonight? Here's Judge Rakoff (probably the single most well-respected judge in SDNY) saying that the use of AI destroys both attorney-client privilege and work-product privilege.

Brad Lander for President.
I was back in federal court today. They’re still prosecuting me — my trial date is May 11th — but we’re pressing for evidence discovery.

Because someone is “unreasonably obstructing the usual use” of the immigration court at 26 Federal Plaza. But it’s ICE, not me. And the evidence will prove it.

Sometime, go watch the sunset from a sauna and cold plunge in the river.
Thank me later.

We now enter Cilantro Week.
From now until Friday evening at about 7pm (estimated), I am going to cause as much cilantro problems around the house as I want.

This, this is the weather I moved to Portland for.
When the sun has basically set at 11:55am and I feel zero guilt about being a housetroll.
