Brooklyn Park police chief Mark Bruley: "We're hearing people being stopped with no cause & being demanded to show paperwork to determine if they're here legally. We started hearing from our police officers the same complaints. Every one of these individuals is a person of color... it has to stop"

I think people underestimate how big this is. Like a city-wide strike is not something that has happened in the US for nearly 100 years
there are a bunch of big names on this list, including multiple beard award winners, and some places i never would have guessed in a hundred years (the malt shop?!) and i'm genuinely floored and delighted to see so many participants

Abolish ICE.
I wrote about how concentration camp regimes evolve and why it's not too late to stop this, even though we are deep in it now.

Please forward info to friends and neighbors who have stories that should be told. There are countless.
We are living through a horrible and historic moment, yet Minnesotans have been rising to defend their communities. That’s a story that needs to be told.

If you’re interested in contributing, please send a short statement (50-200 words) to edit@racketmn.com by Tuesday 1/20 at noon.

So instead, I'm just clicking on all these lovely links to donate. Even $5 to ten organizations or crowdfunding efforts will help our neighbors in need!

Any one of these daily atrocities should result in a full congressional investigation and a disbanding of the agency. The fact that it’s all just shrugged off by those with the power to stop it is a national disgrace.
ICE ended up returning the man, Saly, after realizing he’s a fucking US citizen with no criminal record, per his sister-in-law. These fucking animals.

The Guardian is literally the only major media outlet that isn’t focusing on “protests” but on what‘s happening with abductions, intimidation, and ICE violence.

Minnesotans, share your stories.

Every time I scan the feeds of folks not in Minnesota, I feel like that now.

I know people on Bsky know this but I hope it filters out: The feds are OCCUPYING the Twin Cities. This is a blockade, a siege. They are shutting down economic and civic activity. They are conducting "papers please" stops. They are criminalizing being a bystander/witness.
