Just a girl that loves her country, or the ideas it was founded upon, at least. We've never lived up to the ideas of freedom and equality, guaranteeing life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, that was promised, but I expect we'll keep trying.

Vets... this is what the Trump regime thinks of you as, directly from the mouth of the Secretary of War, "You kill people and break things for a living. You are not politically correct and don't necessarily belong always in polite society."

Your leadership says you are hired killers and thugs.
Hegseth: "A few months ago I was at the White House when President Trump announced his liberation day for America's trade policy. It was a landmark day. Well, today is another liberation day. The liberation of America's warriors ... you kill people and break things for a living."

Breaking: The US lost 32,000 jobs in November, far worse than expected.

Small businesses were the hardest hit.

1. WE GET RELATIVELY LITTLE DRUGS FROM VENEZUELA and they DON'T PRODUCE FENTANYL

2. Attacking these boats in the first place was an illegal act

3. The murder of the survivors is even more disgusting

4. The administration is trying to USE DRUGS to MANUFACTURE CONSENT for a Venezuelan conflict
A note of caution about the new GOP vow of oversight on the murder of the two men clinging to the boat. It's good to see, but it could become a backdoor way for Rs to defuse pressure for broader scrutiny.

The entire operation is illegal. It all needs oversight. 1/

Over 20 yrs, former Honduran Pres Juan Orlando Hernández brought over 500 TONS of cocaine to the U.S. He was sentenced to 45 years in prison.

Trump has pardoned & released him from prison.

Just.
Lie.
This is ridiculous. It was the first TRUMP admin which developed the cases against President Hernandez. His brother Tony Hernandez was indicted in 2018 and convicted in 2019, and key ally Geovanny Fuentes Ramirez was indicted in 2020.

Both were later sentenced to life in prison!

A reminder of what's at stake as the Trump administration moves to gut permanent housing programs:
This is far worse than anyone expected.

Trump's HUD plan would cut *two-thirds* of permanent housing and push as many as 170,000 formerly homeless people back onto the street—redirecting funds to work mandates, forced treatment, and encampment sweeps.

All as mass internment camps are being built.

The only motto that's ever stuck for me is not from a politician.

"If you want a better republic, be a better citizen." - @stonekettle.bsky.social

Maybe Dems should run on that motto. Maybe what Dems really need is aspirational governance for 'We the People' but that means WE must contribute too
#1 'Strong Floor' etc is a blah motto. But...

#2 Mottos for midterms Do Not Matter.

#3 Don't believe #2? Then tell me one "messaging" line from 2022, 2018, 2014, 2010, 2002, etc that you remember.

("Tea party" mattered in 2010, but that was name for a movement, not a "message.")

I’m not accepting a dime of corporate PAC money.

Why?

We need to rebuild trust in our politics. And the people you serve shouldn’t wonder who you really work for.

a few candidates have talked about this but any Dem planning to run in 2028 should make it explicit: the next DOJ will, in fact, go after you if you’re funding this awful ballroom, or any other pay to play deals you make with this administration
Dimon on why JPMorgan Chase is not funding WH Ballroom:
We have an issue, which is anything we do, since we do a lot of contracts with governments here and around the world, we have to be very careful how anything is perceived, and also how the next DOJ is going to deal with it.
