Even if there had been a Maria Steenish candidate to absorb the 10-12% of spoiled votes, the result would still be resoundingly for CC. That should be the story. Instead itll be used as an excuse to move to the right rather than accept that the majority of voters chose a left wing candidate #aras25

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Money doesn't always buy taste and elegance
People think I'm biased against Jeff Bezos, but here's Sartoria F. Caraceni, widely considered one of the best bespoke tailoring houses in the world, commenting on Bezos's wedding suit.

Excellent. Hopefully this might mark a turning point for America 🤞🏼🇵🇸❤️
In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.

My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.

I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

Much as I would not dare to predict the consequences of this war, I do think we can summarize it thusly so far:

A smart and evil man manipulated a stupid and evil man into a war against a fanatical and evil regime.

Today is World Humanist Day.

Our former honorary president Kurt Vonnegut believed in kindness. Humanism calls us to act on it.

Vote. Advocate. Show up for each other.

We are not powerless.

Thank you, to the brave and formidable Catherine Corless. We owe her so much. ❤️
By coincidence I was passing Tuam today as the hoarding went up around the Mother & Baby Home site. A discreet and respectful veil.

It’s 11 years since I took this photo of Catherine Corless at her kitchen table. I rang her today just to say hi.

Unbelievable stuff.
The DPC has found that the state's processing of 3+Million people's biometric data as part of the Public Service Card project was illegal under the GDPR.

Imagine if, instead of being a boxer, she wanted to, say, marry a woman in her native Algeria, or to study at Eton, or become a Catholic priest. I'm pretty sure precisely the same people who are now calling her a man would be entirely adamant she is and will always be a woman.

One of the most comprehensive statements I've ever seen from the gardaí regarding a current incident. Should blow endless misinfo out of the water, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Gardaí didn't fire any shots in Carlow. No one was shot in Carlow, bar a gunman who shot himself

People who says that the definition of Autism is now “too broad” are ignoring the decades of expanded understding of Autism in order to cherry pick a social construct of Autism that suits their personal interest & agenda rather than supporting the Autistic Community.
More people are not “suddenly becoming Autistic” …

Our understanding of Autism is expanding to include people who wouldn’t have been considered Autistic 10, 25, 50 years ago …

Early on, Autism was actually categorized as a form of Schizophrenia. But it was identified as distinct in the DSM III.

You have a device in your hand containing a cultural encyclopaedia of the universe. You can read a Dostoyevsky novel, listen to a Dylan album, see an Ilya Repin painting, stream Succession. Instead you choose to shitpost tired observations about Liverpool as part of a vapid culture war. 1-0 to you.

Delighted to see the murdering weirdo Richard Satchwell was found guilty. At last, justice for Tina. 🥳

An absolute brazen scumbag. Hope he rots in prison.

What the hell is going on here?
This to me is astonishing. The site of Ireland's 1st breeding Cranes in centuries, could be 'developed' as a solar farm, instead of being protected for crane recovery.

"the bog with the nesting cranes is at the pre-planning stage for a solar farm"

One of Ireland's wildlife success stories is the return of this bird
Cranes were culturally significant in Ireland, kept as pets by nobility and may have been associated in folklore with death
