I could see this being very popular and beneficial at #SMU Meadows School of the Arts. I can't tag them since they aren't on this platform, but I will be passing the idea along with my annual student scholarship donation.
Another reason to love @huntercollege.bsky.social: our dean of arts & sciences created a series of stress relief programs for faculty & staff, Singing with the Dean & Dancing with the Dean, led by students. I absolutely love this idea, & think it would be a great model for programs at other schools

Hooray! Leos are the BEST (but I may be biased)!
Happy Leo season! Leos are believed to be creative, and generous, but also competitive and stubborn. Sound like a Leo you know? 🦁

Regardless of their "Oopsie, we didn't mean it" claim, this was 100% disruptive if not an intentional act of intimidation. It's extra appalling that WSP would then have the gall to gaslight us about it! We can SEE the recordings, AND there are multiple first-person accounts, you *absolute* dolts.

Attention #Cascadia! Let's not let this administration take our amazing jazz station away from us. I will be upping my donations, and I hope you will too.
This funding to the #CPB supports 1,500 public media stations across the country, including KNKX. It’s important to note that this budget allocation was already approved by Congress.

Now, President Trump is demanding that Congress take it back.

I can't stop watching this. Graduation day was *always* my favorite day on campus, and moments like this are why. Congrats to all of the university grads this year and beyond! I celebrate you.
When Grace Clements walked across the stage at her university’s commencement ceremony this week, she leaped onto the school president and gave him a giant bear hug — bringing him straight to the ground.

Birding humor
I like to learn their calls and poorly mimic them and then imagine I’m getting it just right enough that I’m saying something wrong. Somewhere there’s a yellow warbler who thinks I advised him to buy penny stocks or to remember the Alamo.

Even if the ours was a democratic country that treated its citizens with dignity and a just economy that did not exploit its workers, that country would still not be entitled to coerce or trick women into giving it babies—because women are not means to an end, but ends unto themselves.

The layers of talent in these paintings! Glad to learn that Bridget the cat came home safely after so many magical adventures.
A little while ago, my parents' cat Bridget went missing. As the weeks dragged on, they became extremely worried. My dad devised a way to distract himself: he began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up in some of art and music's most iconic scenes.

The compromise we can all get behind, as long as it comes with fresh tortillas and bottomless chips and salsa.
I propose a compromise.

I try to be measured in my discourse here, but it's hard to watch all those in science flipping out about funding cuts & not think "You folks have said literally nothing about years of brutal cuts to arts & humanities- & instead many of you sermonized about how much more important STEM research is"

Just bought two books of poetry to read while I listen live to the afternoon jam session at Smalls Jazz Club in NYC. Leaning hard into the arts today to remind myself there is still beauty in this world.
