Writer (primarily fantasy), PhD student. Talks about publishing but never does. Too much worldbuilding.
There's all of her coworkers who are mostly either on fantasy adventure, mystery, or office sitcom storylines. Or an unholy combination of the three. Depends on how you view it actually.
There's another storyline going on in the background but that one's spoilery.

Do you have any side characters with their own adventures going on in the background of your story?

Do we get many glimpses?

Is it in the same genre as your main work? E.g. romance in the background of horror?

A fairly recent event in her home country (~20 years ago) has had a huge impact on the MC, and it's responsible for why she had to escape from her country.
It was a fairly complex war that ended in a messy way and resulting tensions are still ongoing.
#NovemberWorldbuilders Let's talk about how the world's history directly impacts your main character (or some other important character in the world you're developing). Do they have an important ancestor? Was there a specific event, say a war or diaspora, that impacted their current life?

She has dark hair that has no colour. As in, the highlights would be greyish not brown. It's not super noticeable. Her hair is wavy and fairly short.
The right side of her head is shaved at the start (she has reasons for this) but grows it to the same length as the rest later.

Here's an appearance one that I don't think we've talked about yet: What does your character's hair look like?

Do they have hair? Long or short? What color? How do they usually wear it? Is it important to them?

We're talking about our fictional world's history this week, #NovemberWorldbuilders. Tell me about a ruler or leader who made an impact in your world. How are they remembered by those living in the future?

I don't think any of them would disappear. The parrot would start planning immediately, and the water mage would take charge. MC would try her best to stop it going off the rails. The other two would be distracted by a side quest and would be dragged back by the water mage.

She doesn't like being touched (it's not a common thing in her culture and she's not the type to hug people) but she won't fight a pat on the shoulder or a hug from a friend.

There isn't any festivals that are directly associated with the river, particularly as putting anything _in_ it is generally bad for your health.
However, there is an interesting tradition. If the river spirit shows up at certain local festivals,

The city where most of the action happens is at the river mouth. The capital is near one of its many sources. There are also many cities/villages/other assorted settlements along it. The river is a couple of thousand km long easily through any of it's tributaries.

Good day, #NovemberWorldbuilders! What settlements exist along the river or lake in your fictional world? Are they small? Big? A series of small villages or maybe one grandiose castle that dominates the area? Who lives and works around the water?

This language started out as a bit of a creole/lingua franca, and has become more of its own thing. Sounds have evolved, but the number of sounds they distinguish has stayed very consistent through the language's lifetime.

She's reasonably used to water. She can swim and row a boat (mostly in a lake), and she has been on boats many times. She has caught a fish once in a while. She knows how to find water if needed.
She is somewhat useful with navigation, but lacks ocean specific skills.
Greetings, #NovemberWorldbuilders! Let's talk about your MC today. What is their relationship with water like? Do they know how to swim? Have they ever caught a fish? Or is it just something that gets in the way during their long journey? Maybe they've never *seen* a body of water so big

There aren't formality registers per se, except using the standard form of the language reads as more formal/polite. There are some extremely informal registers, but these are mostly regional to cities.
Essentially you'd be changing word choice + a bit of accent as well.

Hardest: not entirely sure. Maybe descriptions but it's easier through a character's pov
Easiest: I would say dialogue but keeping it on track can be difficult
What scenes are the hardest and easiest for you to write?

Hardest for me: Drawn out battle scenes. Takes me forever to write because I'm trying to keep the action going.

Easiest: Dialogue. I trained on Gilmore Girls, Tolkien and Buffy lmao. Dialogue is my jam.
