oh my god. this is devastating. the launch of polygon was one of the things I am still most proud of in my career, and some of the work I did over there I’ll never beat. I haven’t worked at Vox in a while but I am so sad.

this is something an early 20s developer definitely says when they have 0 context about how writing and collaborating on a LOT of content for a website works??
If you wanted to destroy something, having all the content live in the code would be a good way to do it

I’ve been listening to anarchist punk music since I was in like 5th grade I think that’s why I am who I am
You know what stories I would like to read and hear about?

People who have been pushed even more to the left/progressive/ Dem socialist side after the last several years-- and after everything happening with the Dem establishment now.

And if they ask you to do it in a voice call or video call, send a follow up email reading "My understanding per our call is that I am directed by you to do the following: XYZ . Please confirm that this is what you are ordering me to do."

Not in writing? Not an order.
"would you please put that in writing" is how you pull off insubordination without actually being insubordinate. Very useful when you are getting sketchy (whatever 'sketchy' might mean) instructions from someone who might not want to take responsibility for it later.

Have you been asked, as a federal worker, to do something you don't want to do? But they won't put it in writing?

DON'T DO IT.

If they're going to punish you? MAKE THEM PUT IT IN WRITING. ALL OF IT.

Document, document, document.

Act confused. Be confused! Go slow. Require clarity. Lots. Document

I worked in old govt systems and I promise you AI isn’t gonna be able to reason about that code with complex policy logic built in 😤
They're not old enough to have the requisite experience w/legacy systems from what I read. But, apparently, they think "AI" can fill the gaps. Which is pretty terrifying if you are an old computer geek (or computer geek adjacent like myself). www.crisesnotes.com/elon-musk-wa... Search COBOL

cassidy is a fucking coward. you don't believe rfk's rhetoric so why did you approve him. oh right, so maybe you'll win your re-election.
Cassidy says "the science is good. the science is credible. Vaccines save lives." He says vaccines do not cause autism. Cassidy says he recognize that many mothers need reassurance.

Bill Cassidy has showcased he is a spineless person who will put his life’s work to the trash for political gain.

He’s lost all credibility as a Doctor and a Senator who is upholding his oath. This Republican Party will do anything their thuggish leader tells them to do.
Bill Cassidy (R) is a YES on RFK for HHS.

As a doctor, he had expressed serious concerns at the hearing that RFK’s anti-vaccine rhetoric would cause preventable deaths if he’s in a position of power.

i'm literally sick to my stomach over rfk. healthcare is so horrible in my state. already no one has to get vaccines to go to school. i am so terrified for my son's future.

what if bill cassidy actually helped uninsured people by getting them health care? you are not a savior for previously working in charity hospitals when you CREATE THE PROBLEMS THAT LAND PEOPLE THERE

This is bullshit. It’s called opposition. If people in the minority simply laid down in the face of oppression this country wouldn’t exist and you wouldn’t be able to smugly say something so stupid.
