This is a very good essay from the @ACLU’s Brett Kaufman making the case that Trump’s boat strikes should be viewed as the logical end point of legal arguments normalized by OLC lawyers during the war on terror. Highly recommend. www.justsecurity.org/124776/secre...

Congress is debating a provision in the Intelligence Authorization Act that would get rid of the confirmation process for senior positions at CIA and other spy agencies.

Tell your Senators to reject this harmful proposal. The last thing we need is less public oversight of intelligence agencies.
Transparency From Spy Agencies Now
We cannot afford to weaken transparency and public oversight of the intelligence community. Join the ACLU in demanding Senators reject the provision to remove confirmation hearings for spy agencies.

This is the 16th strike of its kind this year — and at least 66 people are dead because of the government’s rash actions.

These extrajudicial strikes are illegal under both international and domestic law.

The Trump administration is reportedly planning to create a new task force of National Guard troops that it could quickly send to quell protests across the country.

If President Trump carries out this gross abuse of power, we're ready to protect our rights guaranteed under the Constitution.

Documents reviewed by The Post detail a prospective National Guard mission that, if adopted, would require hundreds of troops to be ready around-the-clock.
