In a room full of vile people, he is the vilest
Alito's opinion in Mahmoud v. Taylor is poisonous homophobia that gives parents a de facto right to ban books in public school classrooms. It's violently stigmatizing toward LGBTQ families and filled with lies and bigotry. Every justice who joined it should be ashamed. slate.com/news-and-pol...
Samuel Alito’s “Pride Puppy” Ruling Is a Disgrace to the Supreme Court
The justices who signed on to this decision should be ashamed of themselves, and some of them should know better.

Make no mistake, the SCOTUS decision about birthright citizenship IS ALSO ABOUT *birthright citizenship.*
The Court is using nationwide injunctions as the tail, wagging the dog, to take us back to an Antebellum view of citizenship.
That way led to war once.

The Supreme Court's Birthright Citizenship Ruling Is a Five-Alarm Catastrophe
In Trump v. CASA, the court hands the president yet more unaccountable authority—and yanks us into a neo-Confederate legal nightmare.

There Is No Piecing Back Our Badly Shattered Constitutional Order
We are past the point of crisis and have entered an era when our political disputes will be settled by the raw exercise of power, not the law

On our pod, Rep Pramila Jayapal also condemns Trump's effort to deport Mahmoud Khalil, and says we need to hear more from Democrats on this.

In the following exchange we try to get at how Trump is spreading reactionary terror. This is powerful stuff from Jayapal:

Alito is the worst
What was Alito up to in the case over a school’s gender identity policy? SCOTUS turned down the case, but that didn’t stop Alito from spouting anti-trans propaganda — or from urging the court to change standing rules to let more far-right cases get before the justices.

Read about it at Law Dork —>
SCOTUS sidesteps case about school gender policy — but Alito calls for action
In a dissent Monday, Justice Alito called for the court to take action that would send more far-right cases to the justices. And: More on the push to clear federal death row.
