LLM’s will be training themselves on stolen slop generated by other LLM’s

They’re not going to destroy humanity by nuking the earth, they’ll do it by making the internet so stupid we off ourselves.
"The math is brutal and the juxtaposition stark: millions for OpenAI while pink slips go out to longtime lecturers. The CSU isn’t investing in education—it’s outsourcing it, paying premium prices for a chatbot many students were already using for free."

AI is Destroying the University and Learning Itself
Students use AI to write papers, professors use AI to grade them, degrees become meaningless, and tech companies make fortunes. Welcome to the death of higher education.

The idea of an elected judiciary is a fundamentally sophmoric view of democracy, one that equates--and, indeed, reduces-- the many "inputs" into a whole, comprehensive democratic system, to nothing more than the fluctuating will of the (sacrosanct) 'electorate', at any given moment.
This is among the most democratically dangerous things Danielle Smith has said.

She wants to remove all checks and balances on her power and projects herself as the embodiment of "the people."

We have left the realm of liberal democracy in this province.
Smith doubled down on her anti court rhetoric today...

She even seemed to suggest that federally appointed judges couldn't render impartial rulings and that she believed her interpretation should always be above theirs.

Given news of Canada's lost measles-elimination status, it seemed à propos to circulate this 2022 article from McGill Journal of Law and Health 15(1). In it I argue that parental right to refuse routine childhood vaccination is not well grounded in moral theory or law.

Let us in. Hold ICE accountable. Tear down the fence.

This is what we are demanding from the Broadview ICE facility, and nothing less.

Our leaders can decide whether they stand with the people or with ICE. There is no middle ground.

And again, why are these agents kitted out like they are going into Mogadishu?
moments ago, ice agents again came out of the broadview detention/“professing” facility to escort a silver suv out of the lot.

one of the agents picked up and threw congressional candidate kat abughazaleh to the ground.

What's up with Justice Jackson? She started making her mark and speaking out early, and some of her dissents are so pointed Kagan and Sotomayor don’t even join them. The far right is out for her, and even Republican justices are getting snarky.

So what's up? Here’s my take 🧵

They lied. When pressed, they HID THEIR IDS. DHS admits they sent them. This wasn’t a welfare check. It was a test run for a police state.

Why we should care about the measles outbreaks:

-In wealthy countries, 0.1%-0.2% of measles cases result in death
-In poorer countries or populations, up to 10% of cases will die
-15-30% of measles cases will require hospitalization
