Shared last post and thread as I am so grateful that I do navigate city life daily. I feel so bad for my suburban friends who hide away or who become anxious around newness. Like they are dead already, not experiencing new people or ideas.

As someone who has lived my whole adult life in cities deemed “dangerous”—NYC, NOLA, and SF—I think a lot about how dense cities require patience, calm, and tolerance in the midst of social difference, which are of course exactly the civic virtues that the right resents being told to cultivate.

Yippee. I noticed a few years back that hospital cafes often had affordable, plant-focused food. I'm glad to see that patients get those options as well.
I finally found a strategy that’s dramatically reducing greenhouse gas emissions from food, and it’s a hilariously simple strategy. I wrote about it for @canarymedia.com.
