Everything about how we exist in society is a political choice. Continuing to allow people to be unhoused is a political choice. Unchecked grocery prices? A political choice. Potholes - political choice. Yeah, things must be weighed etc etc, but these are choices and we can demand better ones.

My understanding is that such abortions are rare to non-existent, because of the ethical problems involved.

This is an age-old strategy by the anti-abortion movement to establish a beach-head, to launch further restrictions on the right to choose.
