Just an update for some of my friends. I have a new cellphone and lost some of my contacts as a result. If you used to be in contact with me but I haven't responded, that is the reason.
Is this Carney’s tan suit moment?

1/7 I am kicking myself for not getting the screenshot of this because it seems fake, but holy cognitive dissonance Batman!

Let me set the stage.

On Threads, I stumbled across a post talking about how "Canada has fallen". Really, threads on that platform (more so on Twitter) are a dime a dozen.

Conservative reactionaries on both sides of the border are certainly having a day to remember.

I didn’t say that those memories would be especially fond.

Pumpkin Pie spiced ale was a bad idea.

So it seems that the far right are angry at DC Comic because Batman... checking my notes... hates white supremacists and proceeded to beat the hell out of a group of them.

Seems the government is not only forcing a contract ~90% rejected on us, but they are also now ending our ability to engage in local bargaining for issues affecting our individual districts.

1/4 The right simply can not accept that people who disagree with them might not have to be paid to participate in protests.

Slowly working my way back up to where I was last year. Finished my last set (8 reps) for 325lbs. Not bad for someone turning 49 tomorrow.

1/2 When I was in my late teens I started listening to far-right radio programmes on shortwave radio. They were both horrifying and fascinating. One of the go-to conspiracies they went on at length about were foreign soldiers on American soil.

I don’t know how anyone can be surprised at this point.

It is due to snow on Sunday. Though it wonts stay on the ground long I figured this was as good a time as any to start getting ready for winter. I’m going to leave the plants near the house in over the weekend to see how they make out as they are still producing.

I mean they haven't been hidding it for some time, but when they openly brag about subverting the constitution without any fear of repercusions it sort of suggests your democracy is at best on life support and at worst....

While it is surreal not to be in my classroom (at this time in the day I would be teaching General Psychology) because the government appears unwilling to negotiate in a constructive manner, at least I have a really good haul of potatoes from my three containers.

Lock out or not, I have herbs to dry.
October 6, 2025 at 9:29 PM
Well apparently the UCP government has, on the first day of the strike, decided to lockout teachers. That’s sort of like locking the barn door after the horses escape, but it is also a power play on their part.

There was a mass shooting in Alabama today which makes sense since it is a day in the United States that ends in a "y".
