Did Trevor Tombe sign off on the panel recommendations? Were the recommendations the product of unanimity or did some panelists disagree?
The province receives recommendations from panels all the time, and premier & gov't take or leave ideas as they please.
But this is different.

The open secret that Thomas King is not Indigenous at all is finally verified, and honestly it's a relief. Having him just confess this instead of going out kicking and screaming like so many before him causes a LOT less harm to Indigenous communities.

I was a scrutineer last night, and I’ll tell you the system that is in place is brutal. Those folks deserve our respect. There are some failsafes, but having witnessed the process it’s easy to see how double counting can occur.
