everyone from outside ireland who says that irish is a dead language & there's no use to it will always be the same outraged people that we expect them to refer to the dáil/taoiseach instead of parliament & prime minister because they don't know irish & should be able to use the english translation

funniest bit about why people don't realise threads is not going to work is 100% because people don't realise that having to connect your instagram which was likely created years ago & have your entire extended family attached & True Posting only does well if the people who know you don't read it
"Threads is obviously going to win because it's starting with all of Instagram's users" reminds me of that time U2 put an album in every iTunes user's library expecting they'd want it
Meta's Threads already looks cooked - users are down to 6 minutes a day and traffic is dropping. It's because it lacks any real reason to exist - it's a network that shows a deep and presumptuous contempt for what the user wants to see and do.

i work at a veterinary clinic & i brought my daughter in to hang out with me under my desk while i checked patients in, only for her to be such a velcro puppy that she required to sit on my lap and politely watch me work for ages, just happy to be with me like 😭
