Been seeing a lot of negativity about Marvel and Star Wars lately, but not so much thoughtful criticism. The content hasn't changed that much from when it was popular, though.
I think people actively dislike Disney as a corporate entity and it is hurting their brands.

I have no faith that the studios will learn anything. Its a change that has to come from the bottom up. Lots of small teams banding together, pooling their resources, building their community.
And crucially, when somebody like EA or Ubisoft or RIOT comes calling, send them packing...

Each frame of character animation in Mega Knockdown actually contains (at least) two hand drawn sprites, layered on top of each other. One sprite has lineart with shading, and it is placed on top of a flats layer that gets mapped to the character's color palette by a color swap shader. #gamedev

I kinda hope that, at some point, Starfleet Academy addresses the obvious seeming contradiction of Starfleet, one that often gets framed as bad writing by lazy critics.
"How was I supposed to know?" is a valid excuse for something going wrong when dealing with the unknown.

Reminded of the post-9/11 tech surge at airports, where billions were spent on unproven new technology. We could've also just hired more screeners and given them shorter shifts to be more alert, but that would actually involve treating people well.
