I lost my housing last Fall. I've been staying with friends all Winter. Now that time needs to end. They've been profoundly gracious and accommodating, but deserve and need their home and privacy back.
Criminalizing the homeless guarantees profits for private prison corporations such as Geo Group and CoreCivic. Profit is the only goal. Humans are nothing but commodities under capitalism. Humans that can't be used to produce profit will be disposed of.
This is far worse than anyone expected.

Trump's HUD plan would cut *two-thirds* of permanent housing and push as many as 170,000 formerly homeless people back onto the street—redirecting funds to work mandates, forced treatment, and encampment sweeps.

All as mass internment camps are being built.

Nothing the convicted sex offender and felon does will ever be bad enough for Republicans and their followers to reject him because his is happy to spew white supremacy and that caters to the white nationalism that is the core proposition of his supporters and stakeholders.

Authors, Beware! There's a firm called "ClaimsHero" doing aggressive social media outreach claiming to
"help" you file to get $ in the Anthropic class action. In fact, it's a bait-and-switch, they are luring authors to sign up with them, then OPTING THEM OUT of the class action so they'll get zilch.

I think people understand that the problem here is not the power of pardons, but the failure to confront the power behind January 6 politically, which now has the power of the law directly in its hands

NEW: The Trump admin told states it must immediately "undo" the work to provide full food stamp benefits, or face penalties. The feds sent this in a late-night memo, only adding to the chaos and confusion around SNAP. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/09/b...

particularly when axios is reporting it and no one else — not even politico — is.
Regular reminder that Axios stories saying Dems are about to cave are likely sourced from GOP staffers trying to make it happen.
Doesn't mean it definitely won't happen. But it's like those NYT stories that Harvard is considering caving (they haven't). The anonymous source was trying to manifest it.

Folks, if you are hungry, please contact your local Sikh gurdwara. Or just show up for langar, which most gurdwaras do several times a week, for a free meal. Lots also do weekly or monthly drives giving out groceries.

No conversion necessary. Feeding anyone who is hungry is a key part of Sikhism.

The AFL-CIO should start throwing some money towards labor journalism. If it was done right (i.e. with them accepting that journalists must have full editorial control over what’s published, whether or not union leaders like what they have to say) it could really have such a hugely positive impact

Did you know? Every year, the Supreme Court’s nine justices fill out a form that discloses their financial connections to companies and people.

Our database allows you to search for organizations and people that have paid them, reimbursed them for travel and given them gifts.
