I mostly try to pretend that I am a grown up.
Still being shown horrific things on my timeline. Lime jelly, mayonnaise, pineapple, nuts, chunks of banana and chunks of cream cheese.

Although I am still surprised by the nurse who strongly argued for the blue highlighter, which is clearly in no way the best colour

When I was in the post surgery recovery room the (angelic) nurses were were joking around with each other about “stealing” their favourite highlighter pen and how they all have their favourite colours etc but they never get it, so obvs this had to be done.

Oh FUCK, Gravy Wars resume in two weeks.

My MIL have an ongoing war of attrition and manipulation over whose recipes get used for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

One year I made two kinds of gravy, hers and mine, after she raised hell.

Then she ate mine. No one ate hers. Even the Kid has Opinions.

Yesterday I saw a little boy who had to queue to for something and was having a hard time waiting, so his mother took his hands and they spun around having a little dance party. This has made me smile every time I think of it.

So the streamer Ludwig recently found out that one of his earliest regular viewers, who was trans, passed away and tonight he's doing a charity stream for the Trevor Project. So far he's raised over $46,000 in about 5 hours. www.twitch.tv/ludwig

Some absolutely terrible human has put their barking dog on their balcony at 1:30am and it is echoing around the blocks of flats where I live. I have no idea which flat. May their pillows always be lumpy and warm.

Trying to imagine what the reaction would have been if the Govt had casually announced they were replacing A-levels with no details, as they have done with post-16 vocational qualifcations today.

Probably not total indifference.

Apart from the complete ridiculousness of this, the government thinks that the way to reduce migrants are by getting them to sit an EXAM?!? *laughs in Asian*
ONLY migrants though, no one else is to study English because it's a rip off and a waste of time, am I getting this right.
Well this will certainly do it www.gov.uk/government/n...

Met with First Year Uni student who was initially appalled at being housed with boys. In two weeks she has been adopted by their mums, is getting brownies sent over & the boys are checking in with her to see if she got home safely. Cute!

Wisdom, moral imagination, an enlarged sympathy for those who live or have lived differently from yourself. This is what you get from studying the Humanities. So quite important, actually.

When I was 18, my Mom bought me a book called “Where’s Mom Now That I Need Her?”

It was a guide to adulting, meant for kids getting ready to leave home for the first time.

I was disappointed… didn’t she know I wanted a new CD player? A cool jacket? Concert tickets? 🧵
