Every office has an executive tier whose emails are like:

saw on news , , can we replce complianc dept with web 3

and a worker tier whose emails are like:

Dear Jim,
First of all, I *love* this idea! Unfortunately, I spoke with Legal and identified a few issues with this approach. For starters…
Well, it's a little clearer now why billionaires are so invested in technology that produces better written emails.

I think the biggest reminder I've seen that Bluesky (or at least my curated experience of it) is a weird bubble that is not reflective of normal people has been genAI. So many of the mostly-offline people I work with are all using ChatGPT to like punch up e-mails or grant reports or whatever.

So since we agree the Game Awards are bad can we just organize like a cool hangout where we talk about what games we think are neat but also there's a live performance of Une Vie a T'aimer, Raise Up Your Bat, and I Am Gonna Claw (Out Your Eyes and Drown You to Death)?

Just finally deleted the damn thing. Been meaning to for a long time, this was a good reminder of why I needed to.
I think that my blog maybe got scraped by bots or something overnight? I've had like 2000 views in the last 24 hours when I normally only clock like 200-ish, and they're all from one country. Any other bloggers seen this sort of thing?

There was a time we backed every #pbta #ttrpg project. Then folk's creative drive outpaced our capacity, as well as our shelf-space. It was a wicked cool moment. In 6 days, we're hoping you'll back #AW3rd, and keep the momentum rolling!
Working on the AW3rd kickstarter (T minus 6 btw) and I notice that listed under Meg's and my name it says "11 created • 347 backed."

Okay first of all, 347 backed, wowie.

But of those 347, probably around 300 have been PbtA. That's a lot to be confronted with on a Tuesday morning.

We’re conditioned to believe our smallest contributions wont make a difference. That our $5 wont help. That a couple cans of veggies wont help. That one coat & a pair of shoes aren’t worth donating. It all counts. This is a reminder to myself as well.

I love that humanity made stories about jinn and faeries and demons and how you shouldn't trust anything that claims to fulfil your wildest wishes without understanding the costs thousands of years ago. At least we've always known how fucking stupid we are.

Literally none of these people are like "you know what, I understand why voters would be wary, and I'm gonna go do some public service to prove my bona fides."

And that's how you know they care about the power, not the service.
Graham Platner to @daveweigel.bsky.social:
"How do you expect to win back men when you go back through somebody’s Reddit history and just pull it all out and say: ‘Oh, my God, this person has no right to ever be in politics?’"

DSCC Chair Gillibrand: “It’s up to the voters of Maine to decide.”

For those who teach about race and racism, if you didn‘t know, Audre Lorde, as Alexis Pauline Gumbs notes, taught “one of the first courses on systemic racism in the United States and the first one directed at an audience of police officers.” Online, you can find some of Lorde’s teaching materials.
