Dems have a lot of making up to do with their voters after they caved last week. They could make up some yardage if they embrace and champion the hemp industry that is currently set to be wiped off the face of the earth due to their own actions. Make it about jobs; hell, call it bipartisanship too.

UPDATE: The Senate votes 53-47 to shoot down the Baldwin amendment to extend ACA funds for 1 year. A party-line vote with every Republican rejecting it.
An important vote in this series: Tammy Baldwin’s proposal to extend ACA expiring funds for 1 year. It’s structured as a motion to table (i.e. scrap it from the amendment tree). But it’ll show the appetite (or lack thereof) in the Senate to address this issue.

Hold up! I’m hearing this deal to reopen the government also contains provisions to re-criminalize hemp products legalized under the 2018 Farm bill and repeals a provision that allows VA doctors to recommend medical cannabis to veterans? OH HELL NO!

I’m gonna rant about this for a minute. The Epstein thing is the best weapon dems have had in decades. There are legitimate fractures among the MAGA voting base surrounding this issue, and dems would be utterly foolish not to exploit it to the fullest degree.

Once again I am suggesting that you break some rules for practice. Get comfortable with breaking rules. When the rules are hurting other people, the right thing to do is break them. We need people who follow their moral code over the rules of their society, university, employer, and government.
