1. Major news: Remember those "Biological men"/"Biological Women" signs at University of Cincinnati?

They have come down thanks to MASSIVE student protests at the college, which have continued.

The latest from S. Baum.

Rarely have I been less surprised than I am by the move of the American Chemical Society to delete its website on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Respect.

The organization that has never taken a stand on anything has continued that trend.

If you cannot call it what it is when all in a week: a government removes every mention of a group of people, destroys information about them en masse, bans their discussion in schools, restricts their ability to travel and starts seizing and refusing their official identification, when will you?

‼️ The State Department has REMOVED TQIA+ on their page of recommendations for queer travelers. This page yesterday said "LGBTQIA+" and now just says "LGB".

The federal government is trying to erase trans people from existence.

"We have to allow this [org/shelter/hospital/school] to erase the trans community and comply to save everyone else"

Absolutely not.

I will not allow my community to be jettisoned to save yourself. Yes, if you don't, other groups may suffer, and you might too.

But we are all in this together.

Surreal being a trans person on this website this week. Every single one of my trans friends is making emergency preparations in case Trump bans our health care while fighting off existential dread and depression, and 99% of the cis people i follow seemingly have nothing to say about the trans EOs.

On day one Trump's EO said we were harmful to kids. On day two, it said we were dishonorable and disloyal. On day three, it said we were unAmerican.

Transgender people have been a part of this country for centuries.

We are not going anywhere.

Do not comply with these EOs, they are not law.

I'm a chemistry professor. Yet over this last week, I've spent more time sitting with students and listening to their fears and concerns about the state of the U.S. and helping them make action plans on how to make change in our communities.

Surprise Surprise... bathroom laws target cisgender women more often than trans ones, from a simple numbers game there are just so many more cisgender gender nonconforming people than there are trans people out there.

The price of eggs in the US is spiking, mostly due to #H5N1 bird flu. Solving the problem requires urgent, important communications from the CDC & FDA* and rapid development of research by the NIH**

The Supreme Court is hearing arguments today about Tennessee's ban on gender-affirming care for young people. This is not a both-sides story. One side is right and the other is dangerously wrong. Nazis were the first people to try to destroy trans health care. @bschillace.brandyschillace.com (1/n)

Banning access to bathrooms will not result in less trans youth. Trans folks have always been here and will continue to be here, despite the horrific attacks on our dignity.

Thank you to @erininthemorning.com for the coverage of what's happening in the state I live in and on the campus I work at.
1. This weekend, Representative Adam Bird in Ohio, when asked about the new trans bathroom ban on CNN, said that transgender youth will be "less of an issue" in the state after banning their care.

The implication is chilling.
