We landed on continuing to educate those in our communities and lifting voices of those often ignored. I mentioned that I do not feel I have the answers right now, as I'm feeling a bit helpless, myself.

We discussed how contacting our representatives can feel like it's not making an impact when our reps don't respond or engage in conversation. This student is concerned about being arrested while protesting, so wants to find other ways to help.

Yesterday, I had a student that I've never met before and who takes no classes in my building seek me out to check in on how I'm handling things as the trans/nonbinary professor on campus, and to ask for advice on making significant change locally and nationally, while also staying safe.
