This is deranged. Jan. 6 defendants were repped by one of the best public defender offices in the U.S. They were more likely to be released pretrial & got comparatively light sentences. SCOTUS threw out a bunch of convictions, which almost never happens. They got gold-plated due process!

When I was a Big Law associate, I was somewhat intimidated by the partners I worked with. Almost universally, they were intense and serious people. But now I see I mistook many of them for fearless leaders, when in reality, they were feckless, money-grubbing cowards.
As Trump demands $125m in services from top grossing law firms, his attacks seem to be morphing from punitive bills of attainder, aimed at perceived enemies, to a broader, mob-style, protection racket.
