Next time a committee chair rejects your testimony as "not directly relevant to a bill," point to this hearing.
Every witness has exclusively focused their testimony on irrelevant and inaccurate statements to cast doubt on the safety and effectiveness of medication abortion. Study after study and Ohio's own Dept. of Health data has shown Mifepristone to be a highly safe and highly effective medication.

Staring soon: Ohio Senate Health Committee is hearing proponent testimony on Senate Bill 309, which would force doctors to distribute inaccurate, inflammatory, and confusing information to their patients in hope that they will reconsider their decision to obtain abortion care.

ICE must be abolished.

When adoption advocates oppose a tax credit to help adopting families, then you know the bill sponsor's idea is complete garbage.
An agency dedicated to helping people put pregnancies up for adoption, JustChoice opposes House Bill 87: "Most alarming is the amendment allowing a prospective adoptive family to claim a fetus as a dependent before birth, while explicitly barring the pregnant person from doing so."

"It could not be clearer – House Bill 87 is unconstitutional at its core."

When Ohioans enshrined abortion rights in our state constitution in 2023, it wasn't a suggestion! Tell your House reps to vote no on House Bill 87: abortionforward.org/hb87/
Happening now, our @JMiracleOH is testifying before the Ohio House Ways and Means Committee against House Bill 87 because it pretends to support families, but in reality, creates an unconstitutional pathway for legal protections for fetuses and embryos.

People who actually cheat families should not propose bills to misuse pregnant people for their own political agendas.
Firsich: "All but four members of this committee voted in favor of [Ohio Budget Bill] HB 96, which eliminated the child tax credit—a $1,000 per-child tax credit that would not only have benefited families but produced nearly $750 million in annual benefits to the Ohio economy."

A key point from @abortionforward.bsky.social testimony: We're all in favor of state assistance for families, but House Bill 87 turns pregnant people into simple vessels whose only role is to carry a pregnancy and whose rights are superseded from the moment of conception.

Starting soon: Repro rights advocates are testifying before the Ohio House Ways and Means Committee against a plan to give tax credits for pregnancies, a horrible idea that’s ripe for abuse by the state to punish people seeking abortion care.
