For the past 2 or 3 days, Dipp refused to eat his wet food breakfast unless it was brought to him in bed.

Today? He tried to BURY IT IN OUR BLANKETS, but when I brought it out to his dining spot in the living room he ate the whole thing 🫠

Why do cats make so little sense 😭

every few years it's revealed that the NYT was sitting on information about some horrific thing that public knowledge of would have changed the country's course and for some reason a ton of people still give them money. you can play those games on other sites

Took Dipp to the vet because he's been limping and after xrays he's been diagnosed with WIGGLY KNEECAPS.

“I’m sure you’re aware of our connections with the Trump Administration,” the North Carolina Republican Party's communications director wrote in an email response to us. “I would strongly suggest dropping this story.”

We didn't. Read the story that he wanted dropped:

I know every year has so much loss and suffering, but this year is feeling extremely brutal and seems to be impacting myself and my close circles harder than other years.

It’s not fair, it’ll never be fair, and I wish that everyone could just have a fucking break and a moment to breathe.

It has been 0 days since the vet jokingly offered me a job because I am well-informed and proactive about my pet's medical conditions (this should be the norm for both human and animal health literacy).

Both of my Libby holds on T. Kingfisher's new horror books becoming available in October? Hemlock & Silver being the perfect creepy appetizer for the season?? What Stalks the Deep beginning on a "brisk October morning," which we had today???

Could not have timed these holds better if I'd tried! 👻📚

I suspect the MAGA government decided to launch all these Bluesky accounts tonight to try to bait people in advance of No Kings.

These people have incurable 4chan brain and this is how they operate.

Block them. Do not engage. Do not give them what they want.

The thing that should worry the regime is that the librarians have somehow become MORE radicalized than they already were
I feel this is kind of unfair because most of the actual librarians I know were already pretty radicalized.

They're playing TWICE in the World Market. Unfortunately, I am the target audience for everything in this store.

Besties are #cat sitting while we're away and the photo/video updates are keeping my anxious brain sane. He is apparently being a total angel for them about taking his hidden-in-food meds, which is the opposite of how he acted all week while we tried to get him used to taking them that way 🥲

look ai is completely destroying the world with massive pollution and is using up water at a concerning rate but at least you get to use technology that lies to you and is the primary propaganda mechanism by fascists

I want to love "cozy fantasy" and "romantasy" and they seem like lit subgenres I WOULD love, but unfortunately almost every book I've read that's marketed under those subgenres I've found to contain underdeveloped worldbuilding/plots and mostly insufferable characters 🫠

Trying to dust and vacuum before putting out the fall/Halloween decor but my allergies are protesting and Dipp starts screaming the second I stop giving him my undivided attention.

I just wanna put out the pumpkins 🎃

Dipp when only one of us (or a stranger) administers his meds: feral, terrified, willing to commit atrocities to get away 👿🔪🩸

Dipp when we give him his meds together: sweet baby, perfect angel, patron saint of tolerating yucky medicine 😇💊✨️

Feeling very besieged lately! My usually endless stores of optimistic whim have been depleted! Feeling kinda assailed by comprehensible man-made horrors! There is a chink in the armor of my silliness and life exploits it! My cup no longer runneth over, which bodes ill for me, indeed! Alas, we ball!

I knew we would be learning a lot when we got a cat.

I did not know that a lot of that learning would be about the pharmacokinetics/dynamics of different antibiotics and heart disease meds in cats.
