When I was a kid, I read The Incredible Hulk #364, and I was so blown away, that for the first time in my life I really *looked* at the writing credits. It was, of course, Peter David. Hulk, Supergirl, Star Trek, Aquaman, Fallen Angel— the man was a phenomenal storyteller and will be missed.

The protagonists in H.G. Wells' stories are very forgetful-- the guy misplaces his wife in The World of the Worlds, they misplace their spaceship in The First Men in the Moon, the Time Traveler misplaces his time machine in The Time Machine, and the dude in The Invisible Man misplaces himself.

a good part of me thinks that in addition to everything else, the reason they are scrubbing these stories is they do not want disadvantaged kids to believe they can aspire to anything other than their designated “black” or “hispanic” or “woman” job
