B. B is the one that’s worse. Without question.

caving as an actual strategy - including picking out who has to be the “sin eating” yea votes - is beyond his skill level.

This was just him not being capable of leading his own senate caucus.
idk which possibility is more damning for Schumer

either

A) he helped orchestrate the fold

OR

B) he genuinely opposed the fold but was so incompetent that he was unable to stop the splinter group from folding

In the span of three weeks (and including two games that ended within minutes of each other), 44-22 has gone from being an eternal scorigami to one that's happened 4 times, with Washington losing half of all games ending in that score.

I wear earbuds when I am in a store. A lot of the times they're not even plugged in to anything I just don't want people to talk to me.

Anyways this policy seems miserable for everyone. Miserable for shoppers that don't want to be bothered, and miserable for workers now required to bother everyone.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

A 50% mortgage is such an aggressively bad idea in every possible way that like, it has to be some bad faith troll job because no sane person would actually proposed it as a real policy.
Oh good. the 50-year mortgage. That should solve everything.

"White collar crime is legal now" is an incredibly popular position to stake out and I fully encourage the GOP to continue planting their flag on it.

Nobody is sitting around thinking about the "injustice" of rich people in jail for doing fraud/cheating on taxes.

We should all be happy that this time around the libs have realize that nope, no putting this toothpaste back in the tube.

We're gonna hear of so many mild-mannered suburban dads and moms whose policy platform is "sensible moderate reform and also we need to every Republican over with a lawnmower."
November 6, 2025 at 2:21 AM
It’s also absurd retconning on the part of the GOP! They spent ***months*** hyping up how losing by 3% in 2021 and 6% in 2024 meant New Jersey is the next swing state.

We got told over and over that Trump had made all these permanent gains with Latino voters that would Bergen and Passaic in play.
On a call with reporters, DNC chair Ken Martin responds to JD Vance claiming Dems only won big last night because races were in blue states.

"Well that's bullshit. We won in red counties, blue counties, purple counties," Martin says. And it was all "a rejection of Trump."

Folks - let them think this. I’ve spent 25 years doing campaigns - when you think like this after a loss like last night, you are doomed to lose again.
Mike Johnson: "What happened last night is blue states and blue cities voted blue. We all saw that coming. And no one should read too much into last night's election results."

Remember when the GOP made a huge thing about that Sacco endorsement and how Ciattarelli was gonna run the tables in Bergen and Passaic?

Fun times.
Bergen County: Sherrill +10
6 point shift left from 2024
4 point shift left from 2021
November 5, 2025 at 3:31 AM
Ciattarelli is +6 in Warren, +0.9 in Hunterdon, ***-16*** in Somerset.

I'm pretty sure if I was Tom Kean I'd just not even bother running next year. Like the suburbs have fully decided that you know what the sensible kitchen table issue right now is Republicans should be mulched.
November 5, 2025 at 2:54 AM
ABC and NBC have called it for Sherrill. Currently up by 15, somehow winning by a bigger margin than Spanberger. Doubters right now:

Any election in the Trump era with Trump not on the ballot has been a thumper for the opposition.

Well that was anti-climactic as fuck.

the media: “nj is gonna be a nailbiter”
New Jersey voters: “guess again, fuckers.”

Fancy way of saying the GOP is losing.

If democratic turnout is high, it’s not because they’re all lining up to vote GOP. If the GOP isn’t even turning out in droves for their own guy, why should we entertain that democrats are coming to their rescue?
Dem Election Day numbers are looking healthy in NJ. The GOP will not be able to win through turnout. Their only hope will be through persuassion with IND/Dem voters.

👀👀👀‼️
The combination of a high salience mayoral election in Jersey City and Brian Stack pulling out all the stops in North Hudson is making for some monster turnout on my home turf.

“We should all piss ourselves with terror at the idea of a guy that NOBODY in the Democratic Party likes and who is being cheered by Republicans will come out of nowhere and do a hostile takeover of the democratic party.”

Sure buddy. ok.
You know what's probably a more pressing concern than Mamdani losing?

That whatever the result, the big media story will be "Andrew Cuomo, superstar campaigner, did much better than expected, spoke to real fears of Communism and jihadism among ordinary New Yorkers! Presidential candidate 2028?"
i’m just worried if Mamdani loses what will the reasoning be. Everyone said Harris “campaigned badly” against a fuckhead who didn’t do shit and it’s literally the same thing right now (albeit with a much better dem candidate in this case)
November 4, 2025 at 11:32 AM
For a guy supposedly trying to put Passaic and Bergen in play, Ciattarelli sure hasn't, you know, actually campaigned there on the tail end of his campaign. This weekend was mostly spent in Monmouth and Ocean.

He briefly showed up in Totowa this morning but like, it's Totowa.
Nj gov hot take, based on my experiences on the ground:
-Sherrill wins by 60k votes
-suppression efforts by GOP in Passaic county won’t do much to move turnout in any direction
-vulnerable Dem seats in the statehouse are prolly cooked. 38 might fall, 30 almost certainly gone
-all depends on bergen
