Official home of the dork who decided to use my Urban Planning Master's Degree for the primary purpose of "make an alternate-history N Scale NJ Transit layout."

All opinions are mine (and you can't have them!), and they’re all wrong or your money back!
Califon of course has their cute little Holy Apostolic Church of Mail. Complete with a little steeple.

There's a very similar one about 20 minutes from my house.

[looking at the front] This doesn't look so bad I mean not great but certainly not worthy of scorn-[moves around to the side] WHAT THE HELL BURN IT.

So far anyways.

The dream appears to be dead :(

ABC and NBC have called it for Sherrill. Currently up by 15, somehow winning by a bigger margin than Spanberger. Doubters right now:

Looks like Time changed the headline.

It's not a tightrope it's just GOPers doing self-inflicted wounds. Trumpkins don't show up for someone who is only half-in, and meanwhile expressing any loyalty to Trump still lets your opponents tie you to him and just run against Trump's unpopularity.
November 1, 2025 at 5:19 PM
wait they kinda sorta tried to fix it!

FUKK RESULTS indeed, Emerson, FUKK RESULTS.

this one's LD-23 right? Looks kinda like a dog that's really making a show of what a good job he's doing of guarding his owner's house.
October 29, 2025 at 11:05 PM
The really notable number is the massive drop-off in unaffiliated votes. That's really bad news for Ciattarelli; his goal seems to have been "replicate how Trump came within 5% last year via unaffiliated irregular voters and hope for even worse democratic turnout" and neither is materializing.

Whipped this up in Excel from the Wikipedia page on giant pumpkins. So yeah, looks like it's exponential to me. Seems like by 2050 we're gonna have a single pumpkin the size of a pumpkin patch.

Sure it’s cancelled. The Earthcam showing construction is just continuing like nothing happened and the complete lack of reaction from GDC signify nothing.

lol they subverted the meme; a poll that has Sherrill over the 50% hump.

Is still in the high single digits...how original.
October 17, 2025 at 2:26 PM
The vast majority of the difference between this and their September poll can easily be described by their sample shifting. They polled way fewer independent/unaffiliated voters but did get a larger increase in Republican-aligned voters compared to Democratic-aligned voters.
October 17, 2025 at 12:12 AM
Oh and if you want to get *really* into the weeds (and you do, because I mean, we're all here, right?), there's actually even more nuance. Look at the actual question and its answers.

It's actually only a 3% difference if you want to get to straight up not enthusiastic people.
October 15, 2025 at 6:38 PM
lmao the second page of the poll is even better.

Hey guys here's the cross-tabs on my very accurate poll that had a total sample size of *THREE HUNDRED AND ELEVEN*.

Also lmao at "calls were made from our in-house call center in Nags Head" translation: literally from Rick Shaftan's house.
October 11, 2025 at 4:15 PM
Guess it's gonna be my turn to share the meme...
October 10, 2025 at 9:29 PM
This is why that attack line in the debate was a good idea. The media loves, and I mean LOVES playing up when people just go on the attack. They don't care if it was true. They love the drama of it and love to encourage it.

"Wow Sherrill has taken the momentum" simply by actually doing *something*.
October 10, 2025 at 8:52 PM
I mean, he did win with a minority of votes thanks to Robert Sarvis. Who knows how many of those votes would have gone to Cuccinelli, but we can say that Obama won in 2012, and in 2013, more Virginians wanted to vote for "not a Democrat" than "a Democrat". It still works.

We gotta get someone to fix the no weekend service thing, fuck.

Gateway Development Commission seems to regard the DOT thing with little more than a shrug.

If the people in charge of overseeing the whole project think this is not a big deal, then none of us should think so either.

I think HYCC-1 and HYCC-2 were, but HYCC-3 is under HTP.

Admittedly it's a little confusing given the way GDC has split Hudson Tunnel Project into a bunch of smaller packages.

Their May Board Meeting slides seem to show it as an HTP construction package, but also as "Package 0" so who knows.

Imagine being the kind of person that makes this track drawing where you have to rebuild Harold Interlocking in its entirety for the operation to work (or I guess run half the entire region's rail network left-handed) and then criticizing anyone else for not knowing their shit.

Love to park my bike on the side of the HSR overpass structure while I go work at my construction job at the rooftop excavator of the adjacent building’s rooftop excavator.

My friend’s five year old kid works on the tower crane with a 2 degree movement arc but he’s about to grow too tall to fit.

I love the power plant cooling tower sitting on a thin pedestrian bridge. This is absolutely safe and good design.

Oh and also it’s right next to the skyscraper magically levitating between the 54th and 56th floor.
